No pics and I've done a ton of trim from crown to base. I've never owned a fold down miter saw stand like a DeWalt. They look nice but they're bulky and a bit cumbersome to carry around when track bed real estate is at a premium.

I'll set up on whatever is available even if it's a step stool and a ladder to hold the long end. I've set up on plenty of planter and retaining walls. The thing is to have 2 blocks that are the height of your saw table kept with the saw. That makes any flat surface usable in seconds.

As a professional I use a dewalt 12 sliding compound with compatible dewalt stand. Nice arrangement and easy to transport and setup.

Professional handyman here. Agree with Zeke, can't always afford the space to carry a table in my van so often times just set up on floor with 2 x4 block for support. If I am doing a big job like a room full of trim or a laminate flooring job, then I go to the trouble of bringing my harbor freight folding miter saw stand and setting it up.

Years ago, I used to use a site built bench made from 2-2x4x12' between 2 horses.
Now I use one of these. Takes up very little space when folded up.

I am with Doug and when I bought my dewalt 12" compound miter it came with the stand. This was at lowes around holiday time in 2011 One of the best tools I have ever bought and could not have built my home without it. Used every day all day. Love it and folds up to about 5' long x 6" wide tube.

DougB I like that. What brand is it? I may have to upgrade to that.
It's a DeWalt

Takes up very little space when folded. The 2 brackets bolt on to your saw so it can clip on to the stand.

Also a professional contractor here... I have a 12" Makita double bevel slide saw and it's set up on the DeWalt stand. Both the saw and the stand are a PITA for all but big jobs. I recently bought a 10" HF compound saw. Now before you all go hating on it, the thing weighs next to nothing, cuts almost every trim profile I see every day and I can set it up on anything. I'm in the process of cleaning up the Makita and replacing some well used parts on it and retiring it to my basement shop. It's a beautiful saw, accurate, powerful and rugged as all get out, but not the type of thing you want to be lugging around every day. It's very difficult to carry in a balanced fashion and the clip on adapters for the DeWalt stand make it worse. The stand has a way of ending up under nearly everything in the truck.

Who knows, maybe someday I'll go back to using the big saw on jobs but right now I'm liking the grab and go aspect of the little HF saw

I have a ryobi saw stand that is heavy as **** but hugely useful. There was a dewalt 12" sliding combo saw on sale at HD, but it was so stinking heavy , I gave myself a hernia. I bought a hitachi 12 " compound. I love it. It was about 225? maybe? It's not a slider though.
