I was thinking about replacing the rollers on my garage door. I had some problems with it not opening correctly last year after replacing a broken extension spring. I only replaced one side initially because I was too lazy to clean out the other side of the garage for access. It didn't go well because the springs were different and put different tension on each side of the door. Anyway, that is all in the past as I eventually replaced both springs.
While cleaning and tightening everything up I noticed a couple of the rollers weren't in the best shape. They worked okay through the winter but now that nicer weather is just around the corner I got to thinking about just replacing all the rollers. Seemed like a fairly simple task and the cost didn't seem all that crazy.
Except that I can't seem to find any replacement rollers that are the right size. The outside diameter of the roller is 1.25" and the track appears to be 1.5". That doesn't match up to anything I have found so far. The door itself is one of those ugly fiberglass semi-transparent doors that looks like it would be right at home in the 70s, but is likely even older than that.
Anybody have any idea where I would find rollers that size? At some point in the future I want to replace the whole door with something a little more modern but right now it just isn't in the budget unless I can't keep this one working smoothly.
