My barn is almost done, I have 2 O.H doors that I took down previously, I was wondering if anyone has (Re)installed their own doors? any tips? or should I call a pro? I have a 12x10 and a 10x10 to put up. Thanks

It depends upon the doors, but you're at an advantage having taken them down yourself. I bought a used Clopay door all apart with no instructions! I simply googled the manual, downloaded it, and followed the instructions. Sectional doors are easy; roll-up doors are a different story.

I used to do my own, Now I hire a pro. Not worth the hassle trying to get it right and cost is not that bad for a pro to do it.

I guess my main concern is how to properly tighten the spring, I can get the door assembeled back together, is there a rule of thumb on how many turns to start with? and try to raise the door.

Yes the number of turns is figured from the door height, cable drum used, and amount of high lift if there is any.

Thanks John, one door is 12x10 and the other is 10x10, I took the doors down last fall, my buddy was tearing down a building, they are several years old, in great shape. He ended up taking the rest, they were all 14'-16' wide/tall doors. I have 12' tall walls.
