That is an awesome setup, the nicest I have ever seen was in New Jersey. I got to talking to a gentleman I met at the Thompson speedway swap meet, he had a bunch of gto parts and I told him I was restoring a 65 convertible and he said he had a "brand new" trip power setup {WHICH I NEEDED}, after explaining that it was bought by an old dealership, it was in 5 boxes and he had it all. He wanted $6K for it so I wanted to take a look at it..
Fast forward 2 weeks I pull up to a hot rod garage about 6 hours from my house in New Jersey. He led me into his garage that was about 2500 sq feet nothing crazy but SUPER CLEAN AND NICE. Sure enough he had a complete tri power which I ended up buying for $4500 that day. BUT I seen his tool box and lost my breath!!! He had 12 pieces just on the bottom, he obviously had OCD, all the boxes were green, the boxes with sae tools had red trim the boxes with metric had black, he had 3 boxes of screw drivers, phillips in one, flat in another, and torx, hex, prys, ect in another!!!! It was insane, he opened a few drawers and it was loaded and perfectly designed..
I had to ask what he had invested and he said just the boxes were were $120K, then years and years of buying tools, he had it insured for $500K, he also told me he has been spending no less than $300 per week for 25 years!!! And when he bought boxes he never used so credit he paid cash for them, so that just in tools $300+ for 25 years every week...
It was insane, he had a mohawk lift, down draft paint booth, rotisserie lift, he also had the coolest ceiling rail system I ever seen with power hoists all of it, he could take an engine from his little clean engine building room and move it to the lift by for installation ust by hitting a button and walking it over!!!
I was impressed, I told him it was the perfect hot rod shop and he said, "no, I need a pair of dynos {engine and wheel}, 1 more lift, and sealed room for body work" But he said he was getting old and wasn't going to spend much more money on the building...
Anyway I was floored it was crazy and the trip power worked AWESOME, I sold that car to a guy from ebay for $79K, I swear having the boxes to the new oem tri power setup sold the car for me, and all them years in that box I didn't have to change one seal in that kit, everything was still good!!!
