I just bought 2 of the 8' 4 bulb T8 fixtures and will be putting them up this weekend. I'll let you know if I have any issues.

i have used their double that is 8' long with good results. I'm planning on using the ones you linked in my garage in a couple weeks.

I am wondering if they have any RFI problems, as i will be needing 9 of them.

Thanks.

You wont know until you try them, unfortunately. Every installation is different. What sort of radio will you be using?

I can't speak to the RFI stuff, but I can say that those Lithonia lights are a lot nicer to work with than the Chinese garbage my local supply house is pushing.

I got the 8' 4 bulb lights too. No problems installing. Been running 6 of them for about 2 years with no problems. The coldest the garage has been is between 30-35 degrees. Always start right up. I've never had good reception in my garage for radio, but I didn't notice a difference on the one station I do get. WIFI works flawlessly.

And I know it's personal preference, but I prefer the 4' bulbs. Easier to store replacement bulbs vs. the 8 footers.

That's what i figured. I'm using a 10 yr old shelf system.

there are some things you can do to minimize the interference.
Keep the radio's antenna as far away from the lights as possible. If it's a wire antenna, then run it where there is maximum distance away. It you are using a shielded wire, then use the maximum shielding you can find. If it's possible, keep the circuits for the lights and the radio separate.
There are RFI filters, but they are a pain and their performance is dubious.
Good luck

I have 6 of the 8 foot version (basically 2, 4 foots butted up end to end), and 3 of those you linked in a 24 x 30 area. I have no problems using a 70's version stereo receiver which is about 6 feet from the fixtures.

Got any pictures of your setup? I'm about to buy 6 of the HO model 8' lights.

I installed several of the 4 ft T-8 HD Lithonia Hi bay lights in my shop late 2010-2011. So far the third one to date the ballast has died. They have a 5 year warranty and it will be over late this year. I also have 6 of the old 220volt sodium lights that were used out of a factory for 15 years have been trouble free. And if you compare the electricity savings vs cost the Lithonia are junk. Also I use the center shop lights may be 4-6 hours a week.

Like the curley Q light bulbs they say were the best thing since slice bread take for ever to warm up and last no longer than a regular light bulb, but cost three times as much. The led Utilitec flood lamp I purchased that will not come on if the the temp is 10* F or below .. They tell you everything is better ,just keep paying more. Make sure they have a warranty cause you will use it.

Sorry for the rant I sound like a old man:shocking:!

The area is 24' x 30'. There is two 8' tandem fixtures and one 4' fixture in each row. Home Depot Lithonia fixtures.4100k 32w bulbs - 30 total.
The lights are on two switches, one breaker. One switch turns on 3, 8foot fixtures closest to the wall with the walk in door. The other switch turns on the remaining.
As far as cold weather, I have turned them on in -10º and they come on, a little dim at first, then as they warm up the go to full bright.

Here is a picture taken from the dark unlit side of the shop

this is inside the 10ft ceiling work area. White paint everywhere helps.

I just got done installing 4 of the Lithonia fixtures. I would definitely have preferred to be able to get 4 more of the Metalux fixtures, but Menards does not stock the non-narrow fixtures anymore.

Second and last row are Lithonia, first and third are Metalux.

I installed several Lithonia 4 ft fixtures. Within a short time (< 3 years) most of the ballasts burned out. (7 out of 8, I recall) these were the entry level price point, about $30 without bulbs.

It was a temporary set up, not expecting much. But what JUNK !

Tossed the fixtures in the dumpster and gave the light bulbs (all of which were still good) to a friend.
