You have a time machine and went back to 1985 to get that TV?! Awesome! Just kidding! Free is always good. And one more thing: with TVs, as with horsepower, you can never have too much.

Holy ****! I haven't seen one of those in a while!

HDMI is definitely a plus. Can't complain I guess if it is free...

So you're the one guy? I put a Hitachi 60" on CL about 3-4 years ago that I bought new in 2002. I replaced it with a flat panel. Absolutely nothing wrong with it and I could not give it away.

If you can use it and you have the room, awesome!

So what is the best way, to prevent the speakers from being covered in metal shavings?

I remember in 2002 I paid $2442 plus tax at Circuit City. Plasmas were 10k plus. I thought that thing was awesome. Funny how technology changes so fast.

Yeah, you're right, but it seems like 2002 was yesterday, too.

I got a 36" Hitachi and a stand for free. It a big one and at 200+ pounds no lightweight. Its currently on a HF furniture dolly. I'm thinking its going to stay on the dolly so I can move it around. I wish there was some way to mount it on the wall.

I've seen plenty of those for free on the list of craigs around here too. I think it'd be perfect for the garage. Wife says I can't have one. Something about me coming inside and spending time with her if I'm going to watch TV, not staying out in the garage.

That said, though, 120 inches is pretty nice. Far from free, though.

The craigslist free section is awesome, isn't it? So far we've scored a hot tub, utility trailer (which we later used to transport the hot tub), above ground pool, freezer, a bunch of 55 gallon barrels, sofa, table, multiple pigs, and some other stuff that I'm not remembering at the moment.

One mans junk is another mans treasure.
I would make sure it had a digital tuner before I ever took one, and would charge someone to take it no matter what. You will have to dispose of it somday.
They are good for a garage or family room where the kids are watching/playing on it.
And when they tell you they want a decent tv, tell them to get a job.

You should scrap the tv and remove the front screen. It acts like a super magnifying glass. You can burn 6" holes in ANYTHING. like a laser, no kidding. I saw someone on youtube burn through some stuff. I was very impressed. I have been watching for one on the side of the road for some time. I'll get one some day!

The ultimate fire starter!
