Why not have people call or email now, reserve a lift, first come first served.
Then have them pay or commit to pay on or by the 20th so there is not a mad dash to try and get in.
Charged for lift when lift ships..
just my two cents.
and then when demand comes for more.............
do another 40........;)

I like that idea because I am going on vacation and will not be back until the 23rd...

Hi James,

Followed the link from the S14.net thread
I'd love to come by and check out the lift, maybe i'll even bring the M3. :shocking:

Nick

Anybody know the minimum amount of room width wise i'd need to fit the lift in my garage?
I have a 2 car garage and would like to keep the lift installed as well as the other car in there as well.

hummm... problem with that is being able to open the doors wide enough to get out of the car....

I have a three bay car garage. In the single bay I have mine at 115" (measured from the outside of the base). Getting out of the car is a tight fit. Moving the arms into position is also a tight fit... arms need to be all the way in and, depending on the car, I need to have someone in the car to move forward while I slide the arm in, and them backwards a little to slide the second arm in. Keep in mind that test cars were Porsche 911 ('83, '91, '02). Something with a longer wheel base will not be so much of an issue. I also took into consideration being able to close the garage door with the car on the lift, sounds stupid, but I just want to make sure you don't drill it with the right width only to find out that half the car is sticking out of the garage...

In the double bay I have them at 128" (again, measured from the outside of the base) and it works great... easy access to the lifting points, easy to open the doors, still within the 130" limit in the install manual for trucks (eventhough I am using it for smaller cars), and I can slide the arms in and out without having a second person moving the car around.

I just have to share...

I contacted Dannmar at the e-mail address listed and they have been nothing but kind and courteous. Gabe contacted me back via e-mail even though he was out of the office for the day and has been very supportive. Rudy the sale manager even contacted me to make sure I was being taken care of. They definitely have my business!!!!

I'm interested.

Quick question. Any recommendation on how to unload the thing off the truck? Seems like asking a friend or too won't help much for an 800lb package.

thanks,

very carefully, one piece at a time, with steel tipped shoes and watch out for the sliding parts in the columns from bitting you. They slide very easilly, and if you have your fingers in the wrong place at the wrong time, you might not have fingers afterward.... :lol_hitti

I just got confirmation of my order!!!!!
My only gripe is that the ATV adaptors are not included in this group buy :(
They wanted an extra $50.00, I bought them anyway.
Should be to me by the end of the month.

Thanks again Gabe.

Well, I just dropped a bunch o' hard-earned $0.01's and ordered mine... I also picked up the oil drain bucket... Also picked up a rotary hammer drill on ebay for cheap money (I just look at life as an opportunity to accumulate tools...) Next challenge will be to get it off the truck - got an engine hoist for that and install it...

So from my count only 5 people purchased this? Is it the economy or that the price is 25% higher than the first GB?

$1950 is 30% more than $1500.. and if you count that they are now charging an additional $50 for the ATV adaptor that makes it 33.3% higher.

A lot of people who bought in the first GB @ $1500 already mentioned during that fiasco that if it was 2k they wouldn't be as interested if at all.

I think they overshot the pricepoint it should be at. The original old thread about the lift it was "Projected street price - $1795.00'ish with FREE SHIPPING."

Do another GB at $1500 and people will come back out of the woodwork.

You can't compare this lift to other lifts... there is only so much money someone at home is going to spend before saying "Screw it, my jack + stands work just fine". A shop can pass on the cost to customers.. a guy changing his oil at home can't.

I went back and forth on this decision - had I been given the $1500 offer - it would have been a no-brainer. As it stands, the next option I had, would have cost ~$500-$1000 more and would have involved a lot more work. My garage space has a total clearance of 99" which limits me, then I needed access to the center of the car, ******, exhaust, etc work. The portability is nice from a space utilization perspective - but then the other alternative - the Bend-Pak P6F - a flush mounted system would have mitigated this problem. For me the down sides are the limited safety features, and perhaps the reduced quality from a commercial lift (just speculating here).

In any case, it is to late for buyers remorse (for me), and I JUST received my new-to-me used rotary hammer - so let the concrete dust fly!

Not sure how widespread the ATV adapter addition was, but it was not included with all first group buy deliveries..... at least not mine.

Even at the price this time I would have jumped on it if I had not gotten in on the first buy. Still beats a midrise or jackstands and a jack. I love mine.

Any chance of another group buy in the future? I just stumbled on this thread and would be interested in buying one. I hope another one becomes available!!
