Help - epoxy floor in progress

Hello all,

Long time lurker, but don't seem to need to post much (I usually can find the answer). I searched for this issue, and can't find the answer though. I am working with the Rust Oleum Epoxy Shield Professional. I put my base coat down last night and am doing the top coat (with flakes) today.
I went out to buy the clear yesterday with the intention of finishing the floor with a clear coat sometime during this next week. I have been told that the Epoxy Shield Clear top coat has been discontinued. I have checked all of the Home Depots, lowes and ace hardwares with no luck.
Seems that I can get it from Amazon, but it would be $35 shipping and I wouldn't have it in time to complete the floor this week (which I want to do since I am traveling a lot in the upcoming weeks).
So my question is, are there any other brands out there that make a clear topcoat that will work with the Epoxy Shield Professional (solvent based) epoxies? Everything I come across seems to be a concrete sealer, which I'm pretty sure wouldn't work well because I'm covering epoxy at this stage, not concrete.
Any advice would be much appreciated!

IF you're doing a full flake floor, you can get away with any top coat, as you'll be bonding the top coat to the flake.

If you're not doing a full flake floor, you probably want to stick with the Rustoleum epoxy. product. IF they discontinued the Epoxy Shied top coat, I'm sure they're replacing it with something similar, and would work best.

Okay, so I found some Rust-Oleum brand clear coat, but it's a different PN. This one is 225225. I was planning on using the 263997. I can't seem to figure out what the difference is between the two. Both are solvent based. Anyone know?

Suggest you send an email to Rust-Oleum and have them make a recommendation.

for warranty issues try and stick with the same product manufacturer though out the application process, however if you need another option ,

I don't know what part of the country you are in...but if you have a local Industrial store for Sherwin Williams...or PPG...(don't go to there home stores) They should have a clear epoxy or polyurathane that you can cover the flakes......good luck!

I agree with @mnavillus on this. We all sell clear coats and they all work, but they are only as good as what they are being applied to. If you use someone elses clear, and something fails, your in a bind.
