Happy Easter GJ,

Hope this message receives you well, as the subject suggests could you help a brother out. A friend where I work wants to sell his father's box. Could you help identify it and give an approximate value. Any shortcomings or comments are welcome.

Many Thanks,

-Paul

Sure looks like KR537 top and KR557 bottom to me. I gave $500 for mine with the matching side box, but the ones in the pictures are in better shape.

Thanks for the quick replys. I noticed that Google identifies the K537 top box as having the narrow front door to cover the narrow drawers. This box has a full width drop front. Is this just a different variation of the K537e? I am assuming these are slides and not ball bearings. Overall good boxes?

Thanks boys,

-Paul

It's actually a late 80's KR637 top and KR657 bottom, ball bearing drawers barring the narrow side drawers, no dividers. 33" wide, 18" deep.

Looks to be in pretty decent shape, but pics can be deceiving. I could see ~$700+/- a bit if in clean, no problems, ready to use condition. But local market and true condition play a huge role in that.

Thanks so much for the info. After further review it certainly looks like a 637/657 combo. I'm glad to hear that it's ball bearing slides. I want to pay fair value for the box as a "you ****" isn't my pursuit given the death of my friend's Dad.

I'll keep you posted.

Thanks again,

-Paul

You're welcome. There is no question about it, they are certainly KR637/657 boxes. I'd just listen to what they want for the boxes. I think it will either be very reasonable based on your friendship or just out in left field due to emotional attachment or lack of knowledge of the older boxes.
