Hey guys. Been working on a DIY circulating cutting coolant setup for my 4X6 bandsaw. I bought the water soluble cutting oil to day, and it says it can be mixed from 5:1 to 100:1

What would be the best ratio for a bandsaw? Also, can i put anything else in it to stop any growth?

Thanks guys.

The manufacturer's data sheet should provide guidance on that.

Most soluble oil coolants I've seen mix in the 5%-10% range for chipmaking and 3%-7% for grinding.

What is the volume of the circulating fluid? I used to use soluble oil in my flywheel machine and I just poured about a cup into the "coolant" which was about 4 gallons.

20L

Was going to mix 2L oil to 18L water. I don't want the top of the saw or vice to rust.
