I have this set and got it back a while ago when it was $19.99. Its garbage - the torx bits are easy to strip and round.

Spend the money towards a better set.

I wouldn't use these in a "professional" environment, but I use this set all the time in my personal garage and have yet to have any issues with them.

Don't be afraid.

I have this set and I agree with the above. It isn't too bad. Have used it many times without a problem. Might pick up a couple as Christmas gifts. Thanks OP

Seen this at SD.
Might be the lowest price ever on this set.

Man I haven't been in Sears in a while, this set looks ROUGH. The chrome looks like what I would expect to receive from harbor freight.

Should certainly be serviceable and will hopefully save me a trip to the store in the middle of a project.

For those that want something like this but much better quality, Sears also offers a made in USA Armstrong equivalent Craftsman Professional Use/Industrial set. It is a good deal higher cost, but when on sale and with points, a good alternative for pro use or more robust DIY use. Sometimes also worth searching for an odd Pro or Industrial socket or tool needed on their site. Sometimes on deep discount and US made Armstrong equivalent tools. When I have some free points first thing to search on is Craftsman Professional Use or Industrial and see what comes up. - Paul

Bought this a few weeks ago for 29.99. After points ended getting it for $23. The bits and sockets looked fine but the ratchet had some very rough edges. Took a file and hit the corners and it seems o.k. now. The ratchet is longer, at 7.75",than my other RP. I was hesitant about it at first but after having it for a while and using it a few times, I feel it was a good deal for the price. Would have been nice if the COO were U.S. or Tiawan as opposed to the PRC but it's still a decent set for home/light use.

The ratchet is a turd, but the sockets work fine for home use. A decent buy at $30 or less. I got mine for $20.

⬆️⬆️⬆️. This, that ratchet is something else out of the case. File it down and lube it up, it'll be "useable" at best. I figure I've got several other good 3/8 in. ratchets so the bits were all I was really after anyway.

I've used several bits out of this many times. Especially the 7/32 hex socket. The bit has fallen out of the holder a few times so I used red locktite to keep it in there and so far that has worked. I also bought the same 7/32 hex socket on sale at Sears for less than $3 since it said Made in USA. I will use it and see if that bit stays in the holder.
