I collect old-odd-weird **** ( my wife calls them that) But here's some thing even Google can't help with!
It's a Atwater Kent refrigerating unit made into a compressor..I bought because it has that W.T.H factor :eyecrazy:
I upload video :dunno: But here's a link.

That is super cool! I would have brought it home too, much to my wife's horror... That thing is pretty old, and might have some weird refrigerant in it, like ammonia in it, so be careful.

Pretty neat but the exposed fan/pulley is kind of freaky. Although, lack of guarding is period correct!

That looks like a newer fitting and pressure gauge on it, so I would believe that any refrigerant has been removed ("hey Bill, what do we do with the stuff that's in there to make it cold?" "Aw, Ralph, just cut one of the tubes, it will blow out. Just watch it, because it gets cold for a while.")

I noticed the gauge appeared to be reading zero. Is that because there was nothing hooked up to the hose?

The end was cut off- so no pressure, The fitting & gauge is fairly newish...My son Emailed a guy who is working The Atwater Kent museum..maybe we'll here back from him :dunno:
