I need them gone in 2 weeks. If you can arrange a way to get them and pick them up in 2 weeks time, they are yours! If you cannot, then onto C/L they go!

1958-1960 Craftsman Accra-Arm radial saw base and drawer set

This is a pretty cool item. You can, a lot of times, find the Accra-Arm RAS for free or low cost, but they don't always come with the base. Well, here it is! It would be great to see it go to someone that wants this for their Accra Arm. It is in fairly good condition. No rust, some very minor bends/dings, but could be very, very nice if repainted! The front cover (which IS there) is in very nice shape.

Come and get it! Remember, 2 weeks!

This saw is a beast. It is post-1960, but still vintage. You cannot get a better saw made today! If you enjoy smooth cutting and have arms like treetrunks, you will enjoy this tool. It will clean up nicely. It will probably need a new cable, but whose gonna complain about a free tool?

You either pay for shipping or find some way to get it to you. So in other words, to play you have to actually be able to get the saw! I can hold on to this one for a month or so, but after that, C/L here we come!

Here is how it will work! Simply let me know via PM or on this thread you want in the drawing, and I'll put your name on a piece of paper along with the other names and I'll draw a name! I'll take photos of the process as well just for fun. We'll close the name entry, let's say, on Wednesday at 10pm MTN time this coming week.

Hmm, I think it checks in around very heavy to insanely heavy

Not sure exactly - I'd guess about 20lbs?

Thanks man, I appreciate it. It must be a little bit of a let down to see some of those more exciting posts and now come to today and to see that the old garage has 'let herself go' a bit. But that is all going to change! I don't think I should post any pictures of the shop for at least a good couple of months...while I'm sorting, cleaning, throwing, organizing...I've got tons of project ideas but little time or money...somehow I'm going to make it work. I'm going to reclaim the garage!

I feel like a lot of garages around here are pretty established and don't change much...but not this shop! It is in a constant state of motion (and normally, chaos) and my hope is that 2015 will be the year of 'settling down' a bit and getting a little more practical out there.

Okay, so for the Porter Cable contest, we do have a winner, but I will need to upload a few pictures first for you to see!


Also, while I am being almost useless in the garage, I've started another garage project which is almost of equal importance - going back to the start of this thread and reorganizing it.

I realized that this thread is actually pretty horrible to read through for the first 20+ pages as imageshack did something weird and all the images are huge and its just all over the place. So, I am going to go back, re-save all those images, re-upload them and start over. I am also going to pull a mini 'Shopnut' and get some organization to this thread. So with that, I need your help! I've already organized the very first post to this thread and got started on a basic index, but I would love your thoughts on what you found to be your favorite part or parts of this entire thread and if you feel they should be included in the index. I feel like I've got a good base to start with, but I always want to include user input

I would love for the index to include the list of all of the posts with Craftsman tool information, not re-post all of the info, but just a list of what all post have history and other such topics. I've found myself having to either try to use google or the search feature to find your info because it is more concise and better put together than any other form I've found. Also I truly hope 2015 is your year and you will have many more to follow! I'll sit back and munch on my popcorn and watch this tale unfold.

So tonight I knocked out looking through the first 50 pages of this thread for any meaningful links to posts to include in the index on the first post. I found quite a few.

I have also learned that I have 89 pages or so of images that lost their resizing edits and are now un-viewable. How frustrating that must be for folks who are trying to follow along! My apologies.

I am contacting some support at imageshack to see if I can get this dealt with. Thank you for your patience!

I have been using Flickr and have been very happy. I have only been at this for about 1 year so how those links hold up over time I can't say. I think some others use imagur.

I figured I would contact imageshack and see what their CS could do. I could go in and do it all manually, but it would take time that I just don't have right now. It seems that I cannot make resizing changes across multiple pictures at one time, otherwise it would be a simple fix.

Whoa, I finally got some work done out in the garage on the garage!

I moved a 2 bulb T8 florescent light from the side of the garage tracking and put it under the main shelving area, which will integrate into the workbench. It will provide a lot more light under there -

Then, I decided...finally...to get started back on the workbench and design the decorative upper supports.

I had some 2x4 stringers that were going to be the framing holding up the outer wooden skin pillars but they were too long so I cut them down and here is how they fit:

Next, I had some wood up in the rafters that I just haven't used for anything. When I saw more cool beetle-kill pine furring strips, I snagged them -

Check out the coloration!

This gray streaking is going to really pop when finish is applied to it.

I cut them all down to size and so now I have a lot to play with. I'm going to be going with an art deco/1950s design to match the shelving.

Next work will be figuring out the exact design and starting to piece it together!

Hey guys,

A rough draft version of the complete 1950s Craftsman Garage Index is now up! Check out the very beginning of this thread! I still need to do a tiny bit of sorting and some more formatting work, but my hope is that this will make it easier to find specific posts on the garage or what is in it.

I put this at the front of the website, but the main issue is size. We are limited to 10,000 characters in our posts, so it had to span 3 pages. My main concern is that as the this journey continues, I will run out of room for just 3 pages and since I cannot add posts to the beginning of my thread (I checked), the index would become disjointed.

My backup plan would be to just take up an entire page of this thread (aka 20 posts) and save them all for the index, and then just create a link at the beginning of this thread linking to that page of the thread and you can jump right to the index. That would certainly solve the capacity issue for me. I suppose I will cross that bridge when I get to it, but I did want to get a working index up first. Have at it!

Pretty freakin' cool!!! I picked this up the other day from a gentleman that wanted to donate his grandfather's saw/jointer combo. I had no idea it would be so well-documented. Fresh from 1954.

This one won't be mine to keep, boys. My intent is to simply be the caretaker for a brief moment in time and pass it on to someone just starting out who needs a way to square up and cut some wood.

Although, I must admit...I might just keep the tool stand brochure. It is so cool!!!

I have been following along this thread for a bit. I have a love affair with vintage tools as well, which is really a sickness.

Just acquired a 113.29009 RAS from 1959, and it's pretty sweet. Have a line on a pedestal base anniversary edition Craftsman 100, but since my current TS is a really nice hybrid, it's hard to justify picking it up. On the fence. Thoughts?
