I see the arms to a gear puller in there (long silver colored pieces) and the bolt for the center appears toward the bottom. Also appears to be a harmonic balancer puller in the upper right corner (needs some bolts) but it might be a steering wheel puller.

Why don't you take all of that out and spread it out on a workbench and take some better photos? We can help you identify it. If you put a number with each piece it will be easier to match identification.

Note: These are the kind of jigsaw puzzles I like.

Yes I will lay them all out and do that when I get some time in the next few days. I will post in a separate "what are these tools?" thread.

thank you

It looks like one of the offerings from True Value, Western Auto, or Montgomery Wards.

Master Mechanic, Wizard, or Powr-Kraft ?

Nice find there A E Numan. What you have there is a 1935 vintage Craftsman socket set box and tray. I have the same box but without the tray that I am now on the look out for. It also came with a small 9/32 set in a smaller box. The little side tray crimped over the side of your main tray looks like a home made add on.
Here are some pictures of the one I found after cleaning it up and stopping the surface rust with some spray.

I would try to carefully remove that electrical tape and see if the original leather handle can be saved. Mine was in good enough shape that I could clean and re-condition it with some saddle soap and leather treatment.

And last, I'm attaching a picture from Alloy Artifacts on the Web showing what the complete tool box would look like.

Could use some detail pics of the front cover for this as I'm going to have to fabricate one. Also, any idea where a date would be stamped? It's been repainted (badly) & I can't see one anywhere.

ZRX, IF it has a date, look inside the drawer front where the badge embossing is. You may find something about "Metal Advertising Display Co." and possibly a date code. I don't think the Remline built rollers had a date.

I picked up a near mint Beach B29 yesterday, but the interesting bit for me was this two drawer step up cabinet. I've got a B22 step up but I've never seen one of these before - it's the same height as a B22 but full depth.

I can't find it in any of the catalogues others have kindly posted on here in the past either, so does anyone know what it is?

A few of my old tool chests

Plomb tool mobile and top chest
inside is a Plomb 1/2" drive case

AC Delco service cabinet

Cole Steel steel desk/secretary cabinet thing - I really have no idea what this sweet cabinet was was designed for. Ive never seen another like it. It has a 2 phase pull out desk and numerous drawers which appear to be for files and documents. My only guess would be that it was geared toward shipping and receiving and perhaps served as a work station for the receiver.

And finally..a mystery Pressteel rolling cabinet. I cant determine if its an old workbench like the kind labeled pressweld thats been sliced up and made into what we see here in the picture or if its actually a scarce manufactured model from pressteel..anyone have any info?

I have a B22 intermediate cabinet like yours too. They only fit on certain roller cabinets and unfortunately NOT on my B27 roller.

Far from a professional restoration, but this was a fun little project. Hopefully this will last another 45 years. Date stamp is 7/69

I have been watching this thread for years trying to get some info on some old SnapOn boxes I acquired in college. Some fantastic boxes in here folks.

The stuff in my shop. I just bought the Craftsman pair from my childhood neighbor last week, had the Kobalt for a little while, got the SnapOn pair from a college roommate. I must admit, these old boxes are so much nicer to work out of than the Kobalt unit.

1982 KRA-429B on top of a 1984 KRA-380C

The upper Craftsman is dated 1968, I can only presume the bottom is the same age since he had them as a pair, and he had a few other older boxes scattered around his shop.

I got this little portable SnapOn box from my grandfather early in college. It's a 1972 KRA-25. It really just sits empty below my workbench, I need to find a use for it but not sure how.

This road box I rescued last summer missing the bottom drawer and handle/locking mech. It's a 1968 KRA-59A. First I looked for a replacement drawer, but quickly realized it wasn't worth the $$$ for a replacement and my two impacts and cordless drill fit great under there. Painted it black so it wouldn't stand out in the back of my pickup and because the patina wasn't pretty and the red was a nice orange shade of rust.

Nice old CM set. See if you find a date on the lower bottom right of the lower CM. I'm curious on the date also what sides does it have. . 386979b68f2c755c00b37d6a8a65668e.jpg
