Put some new fans out on the patio so was able to refurbish the old ones and put one on each side of the shop. Then was able to finish up my first set of cabinets along some unused wall space. Will start a second set tomorrow.

Getting new washer and dryer today, had to pull out the old and clean out the dryer vent. I had one of those flat / drip pans under the old washer as it would throw some water etc. every now and then, and the repair parts were more expensive than the pan... I plumbed the drain into the home drain.. so I pulled that last night and this morning made a plug for the hole in the floor in the laundry room. Nothing like some early morning lathe work..

:bounce:

Got home from work last night, and found a small ding (.5") in the front door / stainless, and a wrinkle in the bottom freezer drawer. Spent 2 hours on the phone with Sears .. going from "cannot do anything but give you a $60 gift certicate" to "the replacement door / drawer fronts would cost more than the refrigerator itself" to "cannot order another one to replace it" to now waiting for Customer Care to call me to tell me when the new / replacement defect free one will be scheduled to arrive at my home. No shop time because of this BS. First two were off shore people probably from South America who were obviously being measured on "time on the phone with a customer" with a goal of 30 seconds or less, finally got to someone in US who said she works for corporate Sears.. that's where I'm at now...

Bottom line? Sears *****..

Just finished posting the last of "this batch" of my father's estate on eBay.. many tools, mike glass, older fishing equipment, and some odds and ends antiques. If you're so inclined check us out at cautousone and RockHenry1234.. Technically not in the garage or shop.. but its kept me away from that (the "photo lab" set up is in the shop.. so I suppose not too far off base..

My 2 year old won a bike last summer and he tried it today. Still to big for him. My parents came over for diner, so I wanted to take my dad for a ride in the old truck to hear the new exhaust. We made a pit stop at toysrus and I have yet another project to work on. This one is a quick one though. I'll put it together once the leave.

I was working on the Mustang all day till my son wanted to go for a ride in the old truck, so I took him for a ride.

Plus I put the summer tires on my dad's Expedition.

The romantic hills of central Umbria, Italy,
Lessee... Went to Costco, got one of their hybrid 2 1/2 ton floor jacks, best $99 I've spent in a while. It's about half the weight of my old Lincoln "portable", and works better than I expected. While I was in town, stopped by Home Despot, and got a new shop vac - Ridgid 1851 - and cleaned up my act!

Seriously - the new shop vac is quieter than the one in the house. The only bad about it is storage for the hose and wands, but still - I have vacuum lust!

Finally finished the "fuel hose refurb" on the 28 y/o Rig. the last bit was replacing the undercarriage fuel filter and it's attending hoses. I also drilled out the 6mm bolt I broke that holds the fuel filler pipe shield/rock guard, and cleared the threads. Then I reattached that shield and replaced the inside guard as well. (needed access for that busted bolt...) slowly but surely the little annoying things and potential breakdown things are getting renewed.

Got the last two pieces of metal put up in the first row. Went to Menard's and ordered the rest of what I need. Then fabbed up a piece of 10ga steel to fit behind the door trim to add extra bracing to deter some one trying to kick in the door.

Sanded more drywall. Painted it. Hung up the 4 fluorescents I took down ages ago. Put the door back on the dumbwaiter. Trimmed it out. Swept up the worst of the mess. Made a cover plate for the welder plug. Little odds n ends. Took down some shelves in preparation for the last 4 feet of drywall on the 'car' side of the shop. A friend who doesn't mooch every week came over and admired the stuff since his last visit(like a year ago). Just to chat. Love those kind of friends. Almost as much as the ones who help.

Who???? Me???? :D

Yep, exactly. I'm pretty sure if she really wanted to jump the new fence, she quite possibly could. The thing is, she hasn't ever tried, so she doesn't currently have the confidence to do it (and I'm hoping it stays that way). At the doggy daycare she goes to (yes, I just said that), she has been caught scaling the 7' chainlink fence they have. Where there's a will.....[/QUOTE]

Well, that didn't last long. She hopped the new fence yesterday.

Back to the drawing board...:lol_hitti

Pecking away at making a new harness for my farmall H. The old harness is a mix of 75 year old wires and 75 years of questionable repairs. Very simple straight forward harness I could be done an hour, but why work at speed on my day off. Way too many beers to drink. Other mechanical project was changing the serp belt on truck. Besides that, today was the first full yard mowing of the year.

Another project showed up today. Put it together for my 2 year old. It will get shipped to my parents so he has something to play with in their "yard". They have 7 acres to "play" on.

It was 75 degrees yesterday which helped Sunday afternoon motivation. Cleaned up the garage by moving a bunch of stuff I'm storing for a friend out into my shed. That made room to bring in the ATV and get it started as well as the lawn tractor. Re-charged the tractor battery and checked the oil before mowing all the grass for the first time this year. It felt good to get some outside chores accomplished.

Built a body cart for the Triumph Spitfire body tub when I go to pull it in a couple of weeks. Yes, it's overbuilt, but I wanted it solid and something I could disassemble it for storage and future use later.

Put the hinge pin back into my favorite (lucky) Zippo. It fell out a few months ago. I though it was gone, but when I went to steal a spare flint out of it for the one I was currently using (one of Grandpa's unused early Zippos) I found the pin in the wadding. I guess I put it in there when the lid fell off. It was a ****** with my old eyes, but it's back together again.

Brought the truck to the dealer to have breaks checked out, left front sticking and warrantee runs out next month. New caliper on order.

New tires on the mustang, got it inspected.

Went to DMV and registered the mustang, bike and a couple of trailers.

Sat on the deck and watched the ice go out of the lake and drank a few beers.

I kinda like being mostly retired.

Tire rotation!

Made sure I properly torqued the nuts so if we ever have to change a tire off site, we won't have any issues!

I also made a bike rack for the bikes in the back of the truck but realized I didn't need it....

So I loaded up the bikes and headed to the "Great Western Trail!"

Having a E-bike to ride up hill and in the wind..."Priceless!"

Got the last coat of Kilz up on the ceiling in the single bay. Just need to figure out how to layout the lights.

Also finished up the front brake upgrade on the KTM. 320mm of goodness.

Afternoon spent repairing the womans Toro zero turn. Whacked something good, snapped off 2 of 4 bolts on the middle quill. Tore up the deck a little, quick fix for the year and winter will require some wire and grinding to fix. New blades and back in business after 7 hours.
Nothing tough, just time consuming.

Almost forgot to share.. We have a 2800 PSI power washer from Troybilt with a B&S engine on it.. fairly new but purchased on clearance. After the winter it didn't want to start.. so my son was messing around with it (I heard him messing with it and I thought he found an old engine and was trying to repair it) and keeping it running spraying carb cleaner in it. I poked my nose in and after flushing the fuel tank and carb / fuel line, we discovered the fuel supply system was plugged with some debris (not sure from where). Runs like a champ now..
