Hello from VA

Hello everyone. I joined up here to get some ideas and see what everyone else has put together.

I'm a huge gear head and I'm always wrenching on something. I've always had to use a buddies shop or my dad's place which is super nice but so inconvenient as he is across the county. I've never had a garage at my own house and I end up working in the yard all the time. I had learned to deal pretty well but...

My wife and I are splitting so I decided I would finally have my garage. I gave her the house and I bought a 1 acre lot. I"m building a 24x44 with a 3br 2ba place on top. It's in the early stages and we just got the well and septic permit and finalized the design but I'm excited that one day I'll finally have a place to work on all my toys. I'm hoping to share my progress along the way with you all and get some great ideas for organizing my place and making the most of my space so I don't end up cluttering it up.

I'll be posting another thread with the plans but for now I'm glad to be here and spend some time looking around.

Jeapordy: sorry to hear about you and your maybe your first wife splitting up, but maybe it was a good thing. i like the sounds of that new garage with living space above it because I've always thought those would work for me. post any pictures you have or want to here for us to see when you wish.

Thanks for the welcome. I think in the long run it will be a good thing. We are better friends than we are spouses. Here is a link to the thread I started which will be updated along the way. Right now it just has the plans.
