Any ideas on what to build with these two wheel chair motors and controller. I didn't tear it apart but was told they work and were wired to 2 12 volt batteries. not sure if they were series or parallel. just thought they can be used for something. thanks Paul

I started to build a RC trailer mover with two but like a lot of projects it sits staring at me.

I was going to build an rc lawn mower with a similar setup. Ended up buying a house with a much larger yard that wouldn't be feasible anymore though.

Add an old car seat that reclines and use it as a motorized creeper and work stool. A car seat with power recline and base tilt would fit in nice.

Seems you have the beginnings of a battle-bot! :)

Problems looking for solutions are endless. Power a rotisserie, jenny/swage, auto feed for a planer/shaper/milling machine not to mention things for the kids like a digger or a tank! That is before you even have to start thinking hard! :)

I've got a full working wheelchair that came from the local recycling centre ($30) . I was thinking of motorising my BBQ and set it up with remote control so I can drive it across to the park or up to the local wetlands.

Probably should put the finishing touches on my Mobility Scooter to Gokart conversion first though.

FYI, mine is also run with 2 12v batteries. They both have their own wires into the control box and I'm pretty sure the relays or whatever in there takes care of getting the output to 24v for the motors.

I on the look out for wheel chair motors for a powered trailer dolly, I would not RC it tho. Just simple forward and reverse controls power switch and a E-stop is what I have in mind.

Also making it able to push/pull cars/trucks that don't run in and out of the garage would be nice.

Power roll up doors for the shop! I have a couple of the 12v mini scooter motors I was going to try on mine, idk if they have enough torque though, those wc motors would probably work great.

Oh snap I like this one! Use foot controls so you can move the chair around while still using your hands on the repair.

I would use them to motorize a car rotisserie.

Would probably be more of a pain in the rear than it would help on an engine stand.

1. Gocart
2. Motorized tool box
3. 1/4 rc crawler.
4. Electric bar stool racer
5. Diy Segway
6. Kick *** power wheel for kids

Most of the chairs are setup for 24 volts so batteries should be in series. Most of the motors will work at 12v with after market controllers (cheap). The stock speed controller will probably not as it most likely has a low voltage shut down.

Here's a website that'll teach you how to convert it to remote control with a hobby transmitter/receiver, or even Bluetooth with you phone or tablet. And everything you'll ever need to know about Lead and Lithium batteries:

I built 2 rotary tumblers with wheelchair parts. One is single speed using a right angle drive like yours, the other is variable speed with a controller.

I would not want to use a creeper made with these motors under a car or truck more so if it is on jack stands. One would have to take way extra caution using it, one wrong move you could knock a stand and splat good bye or drive a wrench or screw driver right in ya and in a panic trying to get out from underneath drive right into a stand ya many safety issues I can see using these motors in this idea. Its a neat idea don't get me wrong just I believe these motors are too strong for this type of application. With a regular creeper you feel if its up against a stand or anything else and you can stop if you feel something going wrong.

I have seen a guy at ham radio shows that used these to power a 4 wheel garden/utility cart. He put the batteries on the undercarriage to not lose any room and put slider with springs on the handle. When he pulls the handle it drives forward, when he pushed back it reverses. Seen him load tons of **** in that cart and not break a sweat moving it around.
