Need a set of locking pliers

After changing a set of radiator hoses on a friend's car last week, I realized that having a set of locking pliers would have been incredibly useful.

With that said, I am now in the market for a set of quality locking pliers. I prefer the Snap-On brand, but I'm open to other alternatives as well.

What do you folks recommend?

Useful how? There are hose pliers for those spring type clamps, that are cable driven. (Sears even sells them)

I am not sure how you would have used locking pliers.

Knipex. Expensive , but their jaw geometry is very unique and extremely useful!.

I never bought a set of vice grips, I just accumulated various types over the years.

Hey RbrtAWhyt.....what is the Vice Grip that is 4 from the left used for? I don't think I have ever seen one like that. Nice set BTW. I may have to look into a set like that.

I love the vise grip brand they work well. What ever you do dont buy a cheap pair as they will pinch the **** out of your hands and you will end up tossing them acrossed the yard :)

It works well for fasteners that are getting rounded off. Like other's have said it grips three sides. I've also used it to hold punches and chisels...
