If you have a beard, show it off to get a free $5 in surprise points to spend at Sears. This one will be easier to use than the coupons, because you don't have to worry about Hot Buys.

Whatever executive that thought a stupid promotion like this would help Sears regain market share and return to profitability should be shot out of a cannon.

That said, I'm in for $5 in points to spend on a $6 item.

I may try and submit a photo of a bearded lady and see what happens. This sure is a weird $5 discount. Is Bob Villa coming back?

I finally figured out how to get the $5 in points, for people uploading pics and not getting points.

1. Go to Sears.com, go to My Profile, go to Manage My Account.

- Make sure your birthday is that you are at least 21 years old.

Then select More (over on the right), go to Contact Preferences.

- Go down the page, make sure both Shop Your Way Rewards and Shop Your Way Sweeps checkboxes are checked. Then click Update.

2. Go to ShopYourWay.com

- Click your name, Click My Profile.
- Click More, Click Settings.
- Click Email Notifications, Check the Send Bonus Offers to my Email checkbox.
- Click Save.

3. Click Rewards, Click Sweeps, Go to the Beard Sweeps, Click Get Started Now, and Go Down and to the bottom and click Continue to Enter. Then upload the photo of a beard.

If you see "Not Eligible" on all the Sweepstakes, then something isn't set up right. If you see a countdown of days remaining, then you are ready to enter.

As far as I can tell you need three things to be eligible for Sweepstakes:
1. Need to be 21 years old or older.
2. Need to opt into ShopYourWay and Sweeps emails on the Sears website.
3. Need to opt into emails on the ShopYourWay website.

You must meet those three prerequisites, or you are ineligible to enter sweepstakes.

Heck, I just simply uploaded a photo, instead of all that. :lol:

I see I have my Contact Preferences checked off for coupons, but not for sweeps.

Read the rules, and it does say "at least twenty-one (21) years old at the time of entry". That's a strange one. :confused:

Those instructions were only intended for people that uploaded a picture and DIDN'T get the points. That's how to fix it, not how to do it if it already works.
