Snap On pliers looks gay....

I know what you mean. I got rid of all my gay looking tools. I don't buy any tools that seem remotely gay to me and I stopped hanging out with [former] friends who buy, own, borrow or use gay tools.

I might have to part ways with anyone who's using metro-****** tools too, but I'm not sure I would have anyone left to hang around with.

ROFL! My common sense is tingling and it tells me that we hit a touchy issue.

Which Snap-on pliers look gay? Or are you saying they all look gay?
:

The finish on them, and they looked cheap....
I might call the snap on man... to check them out.. if they look ok, then that is it....
The matco I bought looks better, but I am looking to replace them with USA made ones....
They do not have the Matco logo on them, why? they say Matco and part number...

Which Matco pliers are made in Taiwan? Or are you saying they're all made in Taiwan?

Do you guys see where I'm going with this? Both of you guys are being vague as hell. :wtf:

Read my above post. So that I'm not vague, I've quoted it for you! I do not have a list. Can I be any less vague? I don't have the spare time to call on every part # in the catalog.

Right-O. Actually I'll confess all my gay tools are in the closet.

I just thought that of all 400,000 words in the English language a more descriptive word could have been chosen.

Not to worry. Tools as far I know are not yet a protected class in this country -- discriminate away! I haven't seen nor would I expect to see personal/racial/lifestyle attacks on this board -- at least none that went unpunished.

The only thing I can figure out is that Mr.Nutcase originally had an image of some "gay looking" pliers in his original post and then later on came back and deleted it. :dunno:

It never ceases to amaze me how I can delete a post and then a 1/2 hour later, someone comes along a quotes it. :willy_nil
Obviously it had to be there for me to quote. I don't have a magical computer that will go back in time or observe what you're doing on your computer from where I'm at. Maybe there is a conspiracy going on here. I wonder if we can get another Warren Commission investigation going? Then again, if Al Gore wouldn't have invented the internet, we wouldn't be having this conversation!

All I know is that I can go to the Matco site and easily spot which pliers are made in Taiwan and which ones aren't ... I have a knack for that sort of thing. :D

There was a time not too long ago when most of Matco's pliers were rebadged Channellock models. Their long models were made by Kal, and they also sold rebadged Knipex. I guess Taiwan and PRC made versions are the norm now.:(

They've still got primarily Channellock, KAL, and Knipex pliers over there. The only Taiwanese units I can see are the funky crimpers and strippers, but they've always had those.

PS. I miss your Matco avatar ... it makes you easier to spot. ;)

You might think that, but take a walk on the Matco truck and you'll notice three little letters missing.

WOW, which SO pliers looked cheap? I have numerous SO pliers, and they are all top notch. I don't think that any other pliers are better. Some might be equal, but none better.

I am not bashing snap on pliers, I have a few and they are nice pliers but after picking up a few Knipex pliers I think they are a little better. To be more specific the Knipex needle nose pliers I just bought have a better gripping surface that the snappy versions I have. The Knipex diagonal cutters also have a nicer action and are not as bulky, ALL IMHO

I agree. There's nothing wrong with Snap-On, but if I could choose an equal set of either, it would be Knipex, hands down.

I want to get Knipex pliers but i can not find any one to order them from besides a few online shops who want as much to ship them to me as they cost :(

Other then that all mine are channellocks they are some of the best i have had to date.

Have you guys tried the newer SO needle nose and dikes? I think they have great handles, and the teeth on the needle nose is a huge improvement over the old ones. I can't remember what they were called, talon grips or something like that.
