So I bought this MSC brand lathe last night. I know MSC did not manufacture it, anyone have any ideas who might have?

I will get some better pics tonight, this was at 10:30 last night when I backed it in the shed. and I had to get up at 430 this morning so I didnt have time to mess with it much. But short answer is none that I have found thus far except MSC. It is in bad need of a good cleaning.

Looks like out of the same plant that builds Enco's. They are/were in Taiwan.

It's an MSC lathe, so it is probably a Taiwanese made lathe. Same as Enco's like 3 Gun stated. Not a bad little lathe, and can make precision parts depending on how much wear is on it.
BTW Blue.....what did you have to shell out for it? You got it for a good price I hope. My guess would be $1000 give or take a few bucks?
One other thing also....shitcan that toolpost, and check with The Little Machine Shop and pick up a Quick Change Tool Post (QCTP). They are a lot more user friendly, and you won't have to use shims.

I gave $800 for it and everything seems pretty tight on it. I have used much worse I can tell you that! The tool post is what came with it not what I plan on using. It will get a quick change once I get it operational and a 3 jaw. It should be plenty of lathe for a home shop though, looking at buying a single phase motor for it so I dont have to run a phase converter.

Pretty nice score. Looks similar to the Taiwanese 12x36 we have at work.
I agree to get rid of the toolpost and get a QCTP for it. I had a Phase II on my previous lathe and it was alright but on my current lathe I have a Dorian BXA and love it.

MSC imports many of their machines from Taiwan machinery manufacturer Vectrax, which also makes huge industrial machines. I have both their horizontal mitering bandsaw and their vertical metal cutting bandsaw.
