i notice there are ratchet threads, tool box threads and such. i figured i'd start a flashlight thread.
mine is a rechargible mag-lite. 65k candle power. $139 off the snapon truck 5 or 6 years ago. i think i paid $20 or $30 on it before the snapon guy was busted for selling tools and not paying his snapon bill. i have yet to recieve a bill for it. runs off a 6 volt stick battery. i replaced it a year and a half ago from batteries plus for $30. i burned a hole in someones carpet once. i accidently set it down face down and forgot to turn it off.

I'm a big fan of Surefire flashlights. I have many. Here's my G2 LED...

I’ve had the rechargeable mag-lite for about eighteen years now, actually I’m on my third one lost the first in a foot chase and the second, well lets say it wasn’t exactly used as per instructions. It also doubles as a night stick when the **** hits the fan on night tours.

I have a few more around the house. Some of the mags are modded. I shifted my hobby from flashlights to tools and have no regrets at all:)

There are better quality lights than Maglite, but their warranty service is excellent. I have a couple of Streamlites that I really like, but for around the house, Maglites serve the purpose.
I used to put 6 D-Cell Maglites on my expenses, and take them to work, as (I was hopelessly optimistic), that even my helpers couldn't lose something that big, and if I did see it wandering around the rig, I would be 99.9999999999 percent sure that it was mine, especially if it was painted day glo green, or pink, of if it fell under the unit, that you stood a good chance of seeing it amid the goo.

nice collection of Surefires. I have many lights>>surefire, streamlight and a few made in California.

Nothing beats a great lights when you need it. The M6 throws a great deal of distance. L4 is still my favorite flood light.

Can't go wrong with cpf either. Lots of good, knowledgable people there.

I have probably 10-20 more lights than whats pictured, (scattered around the house and cars). A couple more SF's but most are streamlight, and various maglites.

In the pelican case...most of the right hand side lights are lasers I have made out of flashlight hosts. The lasers range from 100mW-250mW (650nm,405nm)

Lots of flashlight freaks over there. I was directed there when I was looking for info on my Streamlight, I didn't realize that people could get off on flashlights like these guys!:wtf:

hey easy now, I'm on CPF...and the "condition" is called "flashaholic"

I bet over there they could call us here tool freaks:headscrat

Its really bad that I'm on both of the forums...along with EDC, Gearjournal, and a few others....yep I have problems too!

I have streamlight stingers all over the house and garage. Streamlight microstream lights on every set of keys. A Streamlight Strion in the console of my pickup. I have given just about everyone in my family a microstream for christmas. I also gave out a bunch of the pink nano lights for christmas to some of my better customers.

I'll see if I can dig up a pic or two of my modest arc/hds collection.

Found one:

Im\'m a sucker for a well worn arc aaa.

I picked up a zebralight head lamp for Christmas. It is a very solid little light. Great for getting under the car and not having a task light blasting me in the face or not putting the light in the right spot.

Most of my mine are just working lights, lots of Pelicans and Underwater Kinetics. Only one Surefire. Don't have any pictures right now.

Check out Batterystation.com for batteries. Surefire also sells batteries at a low rate.

You could also go rechargable cells and if you use the light a lot, I would go that route.

I'm glad I came across this. I need to get a couple new flashlights... I had a 2D cell mag lite that quit working a while back and I want to replace it with something different. I also need to get a light to carry in the truck. After having a tire blow out in the dark I decided I should carry a light so I can see at night.
