Car Lift - Advise

Hi All

New to this forum.. Currently interested in residential car lift , 4 post free standing. Any recommendation on brand. I am more concerned with quality and service vs. price when it comes to this. ie Bendpak , backyard buddy.

Any advise or recommendation is much appreciated

I'd recommend Bend Pak or Direct Lift for residential stuff. Tuxedo products aren't bad either. To the best of my knowledge, the only USA made lift is Backyard Buddy, but as a lift distributor, I'm really not impressed by how it's built. Much better products are available, even if they're imported.

When it comes to service, there really isn't a manufacturer out there that can compete with Rotary (parent company to Direct Lift). Most traditional lift distributors do have service departments, but we are more geared to servicing professional service shops than the residential market. Bend Pak, Direct lift and Tuxedo all have parts pretty much available, but not many people stock 'em.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask...There's a ton of info in these threads about all of the different brands available out there.

I highly recommend Backyard Buddy. I own one, and also have experience with many of the big name lifts. I can tell you first hand that the Backyard Buddy is the most stable lift you will find. If you are thinking about getting something else, make sure that you personally see one before you order it. Put the lift up at working height and shake it, you will be amazed at how much some of the big name lifts sway around.
