Is this a Block Grinder

A friend has a co-worker selling a grinder. He asked my advise as to the value. The "257" prefix in the model number would suggest "block grinder" but from my own experience not all "257's" are true block grinders (eg. late model plastic body). So again here I am asking you to share your collective knowledge. Is this the real McCoy and would it be worth $50 nib?

I don't think people on here recognize that as a CMan "block" grinder.

There are two version of the block grinder.
1. older generation and most coveted

2. newer generation and still coveted

An emphatic NO.
It's a BLO (Block Like Object).
It's fine for small hobby type grinding, but not much more.
The value is in the $10-$20 range, maybe up to $25 because it's clean and has the original box. But only to the right buyer.

Thanks guys, admittedly I didn't read the whole block grinder thread!! That said does anyone know the model numbers within "397" and "257" which incorporate the block motor? Unknowingly someone may read the first few pages of the massive thread and assume (like me) that any model number starting with "397" or "257" (as suggested) is a real block grinder.

I bought one of those for $5. After getting it home and trying it, I'm glad I didnt pay more. Its all cheesy plastic. Not durable at all.
Mine now resides collecting dust under a bench.
