va that is a sweet little vise and a double swiveller at that. I hadn't seen it, though I am not really looking these days. I too hope it was someone here that got it, then we will get to see and hear more about it. The photo's were not great on the listing.

I think whoever bought it is the similar target market Balane has mentioned buy his vises. The vast majority on here would never spend that kind of money for that vise. Most here want a "flippers" price or a nice vise to keep price. This was a got to have it no matter the cost price.

Like the wilton! Great story to it too. I have a number of tools that have been passed down through the family, and they're my favorites

you can never have too many tools

The first auction;
http://www.ebay.com/itm/EXCELLENT-B...951?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item25a6748897

The second auction;
http://www.ebay.com/itm/EXCELLENT-S...305?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item25a6ff39e1

Notice in the first auction it says;
This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing.

He just took the first auction down and made another one. There was never a chance at getting it for that price. It was an auction, not a Buy It Now.

My apologies... I blew it off due to it being an overseas knockoff with a replacement part, I should have paid closer attention, please forgive me...:beer:

Small update on the JIMCO positioning base on the little bullet I got.

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showpost.php?p=4910217&postcount=31540

I emailed R.E. Dye Machine & Supply about it and Jim Dye sent me an email back stating that the JIMCO base was originally for a magneto repair fixture they made from the 1940's through the 1960's. He said that no literature or anything else about them is available anymore...

Picked up this Palmgren 4" drill press vise on my way to work this morning. It has heavy usage marks but functions perfectly. The price was too good to pass up. It's a great vise to use or I may sell it as is.

Good observation on the Piramiit Bullet Blane.---Probably would have gone fairly high the first time too.---I still would have been kicked to the curb, cause I'm just not going to bid up in the foolish range.---Maybe some one knows something about that vise's maker, or history that makes it a real deal.:dunno:

VA: not me on the cute little Wilton and it was only a 2 hour drive if i would have bought it. i think i'm at about 7 days since I've bought a vise (vice) so really getting the willies and hoping i don't start looking at Ebay ads. i'm trying to get down to my top 5 (20) vises so i don't have to rent another storage unit. Thinning the herd to GJ members has been good so far, but it's like losing an appendage when some of these gems leave my hands. i guess if you flip them fast enough or in a group on the back of your pickup to friends and co workers it helps.

Shhhh on the little vise acquisition method. :lol_hitti

TJ: happy to see you have a 300 pounder, a few wiltons, huge blacksmith vises and now a double swiveler. might i suggest you rent a small storage unit in a secure facility so you don't have to keep bringing them home. it works for me and she doesn't roll her eyes as much now. congrats

Mix: so you talked to the maker of the swivel base for your baby bullet. very cool. nice looking combo with the blue and chrome and if the chrome gets to be something you can't live with say it's a primer coat and put another color on or wire wheel it of. BLO works too. i think the chrome looks ok, but it's your vise so you need to like it.

Shift: nice story about the scrapper to the museum.

Niblet: if you do set that open screw Wilton up to use since it was your Dad's vise if you use it maybe throw an oily or damp rag over the screw while cutting or working on stuff in it's jaws and keep the debris from going in and out of the vise nut as much as possible so it will last years to come.

Same here, there's just no sure way to tell the potential value of a vise like that. What I've learned in auctions is that it doesn't take one person who really wants the vise badly to drive the price up, it takes at least two! The second guy is the hard part.

Good call Balane, it takes two to tango!
There have been 4 sold on eBay since 2008.
I am assuming they are made overseas, but I am not good with assumptions, obviously, lol!
The other 3 had a different tightening knob for the swivel body...

Thanks! Another Wilton? That means I now have 5 Wiltons!!
Geeze what am I going to do with them??:headscrat

Niblet : Off to a good start there with 5 Wiltons. You're already 2 ahead of me. I might have the fewest vises of anybody on this board with a total of just 7. Three Wiltons, 2 Prentiss, an Athol, and a Rock Island.
Definately hold on to your Dad's Scout. It's a legacy you know...

Zoomie : Do you have some secret method of tracking sold ebay listings for the past 7 years that you'd be willing to share with us?

Zoomie, do you know anything about those bullets.---4 in 7 years, that's pretty rare.---I still a whole lot rather have a 202.---And I might get a little foolish on one of them.:willy_nil

Not much, other than they look cool!
I would've liked to be in on it, but I can't collect everything I like, unfortunately, lol!
I'll hold out for the 202...

Niblet: my baby bullet doesn't have a swivel base, but it has the power arm with the clamp so here's a couple shots i took yesterday as i was cleaning off a bench.

i'm not sure it's a 202, but it might be my favorite vise along with my Reed 404.5, 2C & 4C.

While my wife & I were driving home on Saturday afternoon, something caught my eye at a yard sale. I darted in to a parking space and stopped with screeching tires. My wife asked; "What's wrong?!?!" I told her that I saw a vise at the sale across the street from where we were parked. She accused me of having vise radar.

The vise is a cute little Dunlap No. 00-H pipe vise.
I hope to find it a good home. :fingersx:

Did anyone happen to see the little Piramiit Bullet on E-bay a few days ago?---Similar to the Wilton 202 and commanded about the same price.---First one I've seen, but looked pretty well made.---I bid $123.00, thought that would be plenty high.---I wouldn't even have bought the jaws on it.---$363.85, and $11.oo shipping, not a bad pay-day.

Did a GJ member snag this one?---I'm thinking Drive.---He's been dogging those good vices that don't take up much room.:bounce:

Well, another one for the index.

Yea PghJKB,---I've got your Pyramid in the index on page 902 and Blue Frogs rotating head Pyramid on Page 893, Post 17848.---But this one is spelled or misspelled Piramiit.---May be the same Co.---May be a nock-off of the nock-off of the Wilton 202.:dunno:

That may be true, but it isn't always easy prying them out of frugal yankee's hands. :lol_hitti

Could of had all you wanted at the swap meet in Mansfield last month, not exaggerating, saw at least 10 for sale there. Didn't see anyone carrying one.....

Found this in PA. I dont think this is on CL. 6" Parker but he wants 250 which is too much in this shape inho. I liked the pics so I thought I'd post em up. If the jaws were better I'd all over it.

He also has that 6" paramo that I'm interested in. I'll post up the contact info once I work out the other vise.

The reason that there are all those pipe vises back East is due to the proximity of DC.
Lots of plumbers because of the high rate of constipation.

Don't know if I showed this ... last picture shows that the jaws are pretty square. No cracks, but some machining marks on top of the jaws.

Joe: That Cole vise looks a lot better with those attachments. i saved this picture of one i saw last year that i think one of our members owns. it's not for me, but thanks for sharing.

Nuts: surprised the pipe vises are not bigger then for all that ****. :lol_hitti

BMX: Holland's are one of my favorite vise makers and we don't see many on our side of the US. i see your Wilton C0 is still holding it's spot on your bench and hard to replace that one unless you find or want a bigger C series Wilton.
