How did everyone hook up the air line from the compressor to iron pipe? I am going to run about 30 feet of pipe but not sure how to do the connections from the compressor, should I use a air dryer/oiler or is there a better set up?

Thanks for any ideas

Try searching and you should find the info you are looking for. There's been lots of discussion on the past on the forum about shop airlines.

The best way to connect from the compressor to the iron pipe is with a short section of flex hose. If you do that then you won't transmit the vibration of the compressor to your pipe.

A hydraulic hose works perfect, flexable and can take heat & pressure. Make sure you get one w/ NPT threaded fittings.

I know lots of guys on here use hydraulic hose, but you could also use an inexpesive short lenth of air hose, tow NPT hose fittings and make one yourself. 10 bucks. Make sure it runs UP from compressor to air line, so as to keep most of the initially produced moisture in the tank.

Do not use a central lubricator on your air system. Those devices are designed to lubricate a pneumatic assy etc type industrial machine where all the cylinders and motors are within a few feet (<10') from the lubricator. They will make an unholy mess of your air distribution system. For tools use an inline oiler at the tool. If your air distribution system is set up properly you may not need any point of use desiccators or dryers.

Use a light duty hydraulic hose for your transition from compressor to iron pipe.
