Original Quote - This is interesting. I've seen others do it but havent tried it myself yet. I was thinking of plastic dipping the Bronco. How durable is it? Any special prep prior to applying it?
Patrick, it feels pretty durable but only time will tell. Supposedly it can last 2-3 years with proper care. It is a temporary measure for me until I can get the car properly painted.
As far as prep goes, the car had to be washed really well so that no oil, grease or other dirt was on the surface to be painted. It had to be completely dry otherwise the Plasti Dip would not bond. Air temp had to be at least 70 degrees and dry. I taped off some parts of my garage like the floor and some items I did not want overspray to land on. I wore a 3M mask that had replaceable filters.
