For sure, Don't worry about his new life, My wife's girlfriends say the when they die they want to come back as one of my wife's pets
(she treats them way better than most)

I've got one of those too. Rotties are great dogs!

I love these dogs, I've had them for guard dogs at my businesses for several years. And they are very smart and loyal.

scale looks great. Did that scale have a special bowl that sat on top of the chrome claw? I like the bold shield they used in their logo.

Well first and for most I have to thank Don again for the tour of the Garage on Thursday, anyone lucky enough to witness what he has built or knows Don will agree he is an awesome host! I'm still completely lost for words about the garage, but definitely one of.... if not the coolest things I have ever seen! The pictures on this site only give you a small peek, but in person the INCREDABLE details and collections that seem to grow the more you look around. I can't thank you enough again Don for having us over! Can't wait to come by again and see what new projects you've got going and perhaps learn a thing or two during one of the builds; would love to help turn a wrench or two! Thanks Again Don!

Gramps said he looks forward to breakfast Tuesday morning!

Wow. Did those parts polish up that well, or did you get them re-chromed ?? Looks great.

Thanks Toolfool
I definitely got them chromed and brass plated by Chip Foose's platter. He is also a good friend of mine and comes to the parties with his wife
And thanks for the visit.

Hi Herb
Nice to have you drop in.
Thanks. Yes the scale had a nice brass scoop riding on those fingers and I am looking for one now. That shield really caught my eye when I first started looking at scales. Now I need to accent it with color.

Hi Don
Thanks, You're so generous with those kind words.
I enjoyed our visit and was honored to show off my little slice of heaven.
I'm thrilled to hear that you, your dad, and gramps had a nice time here.
I hope you are serious about turning wrenches with us. There are plenty of tools and room to work and we have a great time every day.
Tell gramps that I will be pulling the 65 vette out for breakfast on Tuesday.

Don

Don

You must have great connections with the Powder Coating shop to get them back that soon.
Your display looks great as well as the scales also.

Don, that is one fantastic display of scales well done.

The scales you have are vastly different to what we see out here, I must take some pics of the few that I have.

Once again, well done.

Thanks for stopping in 1/2 cup
I would like to see the different scales you have down under.

Today I got busy hanging up a few treasures that I have been collecting over the past month or so. The barn is starting to take shape.

Ok guys
It's time to break the silence
You may recall back in december I had a T.V. crew here filming the garage
Well it was a little more than that

It was the discovery channel here filming for an episode of
"LORDS OF THE CAR HOARDS"

we did some negotiating and they took one of my cars and restored it for me
I got it back last week. The series is showing in Europe now and is called
" Extreme Car Hoarders" and we are the 4th episode of the series.
It shows July 27th

It will show here in the U.S. starting in september so keep an eye out for it
I can't show any pictures of the car but I will tell you that it looks great and I was very surprised at how nice it looks.
I am very curious what the story line will be because I don't fit the car hoarder theme.

Pardon me Don, I'm a little confused as what they did ? They took a car of yours and rebuilt it for the show? How does that work, do you have to pay them to do the rebuild on your car? I've seen some shows were the owner is suppose to be surprised they did their car, like Overhaul . And I've seen the ones that the owner needs help and people stop by there house and do the repair. Can't wait to see this show, I like to watch almost all of them.

Hi Herb.
They took a few of my cars and sold them to create a budget for the build
They usually go after a field full of junk cars and sell them for a car hoarder but for me they took a few nice ones.

Oh , I remember the show now that you mentioned about selling some of your collection for them to finish a dream vehicle for you. Isn't one of the guys a X fighter, like boxer or pro wrestler? The other guy is a world know car sculptor? They do some nice work on the ones they did for the old shows. Can't wait to see you give up some nice finds, so they can sell it or scrap it out.

Still really enjoying your thread Don (and the Corvette thread too). Great to hear about the TV show. I know that show has had some criticism here and there but I always enjoyed it and was wondering if it would return. Glad to hear that it is and even better that you're in an episode! Looking forward to seeing it.

As always, keep up the great work.

It is nice to know that. The T.V. show is both a feather in the cap and a (pita)
I can't do anything with the car til the show airs.
I will keep sharing my little project, It's a great record for me to look back on when I think I'm slacking off lol

That's one nice scale Don, I am sure you can give them the justice they deserve.

Regards

Thanks 1/2 Cup
I just need to pull off the vette for a month and start kicking some of these smaller (funner) projects out.
I do need to reorganize the party garage to house a few new things

Thanks for stopping in guys
Don

Looking forward to seeing your "Lords" episode and your "few new things".

I'll try to find some time this week to play in the party garage and document the new stuff. I can't do anything with the car til the show airs so don't expect to see it yet.:dunno::dunno:

Wow, that's quite a reduction. I don't want to ask about any other cars/trucks, don't want to give anything away on accident.

So, tell me, how's the echo in the garage? :bounce:

So can you tell us how you were lucky enough to be selected to be on the show? I was thinking the show was based on people that had a bunch of cars, but none of them were really nice show cars or drivers. Do you have a salvage yard someplace with all the junkers and parts cars?:D
