Not sure how I feel about these tools... but anyway, it's a Sears Hot Deal.. take a look.


To me, the ratchet doesn't look very strong, I played around with it in the store a bit. The "ratcheting wrenches" just look like it would be easy to strip bolt heads and nuts.

Anyone who owns these want to comment?

The only tool in this series that seems to get good mentions on garagejournal would be the T Handle spinner. That does feel solid.

I played with the display roto ratchet and adjustable at the display in Sears.

The adjustable was already toast and had it been working I would not have trusted all the moving parts to not break down due to exposure

The roto ratchet was big and bulky and impractical to most applications

I agree. I question the durability of these. And the combination wrenches that they have listed as "ratcheting" look like they would strip nuts and bolt heads

I've been seeing the commercials on TV for the roto ratchet over the last few days.

Based purely on appearance of the tool I think it is too bulky and there are too many moving parts. Craftsman is trying to do too much with this one.... So it functions as a push-twist screwdriver, ratcheting screwdriver,and a roto ratchet.

The area below the head houses some of the internals for the push-twist function so it's bulky there, and also at the handle it bulks up to house some more moving internals. Since it is a push-twist that means that there isn't a full shaft/tang going into the handle. Wonder how much torque it will really take? And as a personal observation: I've never had a push-twist screwdriver that was worth a dang. Either the mech failed and I had a non-reversing screwdriver or the mech slipped under use and busted knuckles.

I know Sears is calling it a hot deal but the commercials on YouTube from several months ago have the same pricing on the ratchet and the ratchet set, so ymmv.

No surprise that the commercials for these tools are hitting the airwaves the week before Father's Day. It might be fine for the very light occasional home use but I wouldn't want to try, or have to rely on, it for more than that.

These strike me as the type of tool that will be gone in a couple of years. I wonder what you will get as a replacement when your Craftsman Roto Ratchet breaks? That may actually be an upgrade.

Yeah but kmart had these (or has these) for like 8 bucks. Maybe not anymore. Super deal at 8 bucks, awesome quality on that. They got a 3/8 now at 25 that's probably not a bad idea if you like t handles but I won't say whether or not that is actually a good deal or not.
