Has anyone used this Miller Half Mask?

I've had THIS half mask respirator on my radar for a while but never pulled the trigger because I need one with organic vapor filters. I like that it is low profile since I'd be wearing it for a long time around machinery where visibility is very important. But as is typical of online tools, I never met anyone who has used it to give an opinion.

I found a filter manufacturer, GVS and reached out to customer support about where I would find their filters for sale, but nobody ever emailed me back. :dunno:

Do any of you have experience with these sort of filters or this particular mask?

Or can you recommend a super comfortable low profile mask for extended wear? I am a machinist in an aircraft repair station that is rapidly outgrowing its building so in addition to the normal lubricant vapors and metal dust, we have recently added chrome and nickel grinding, painting and some coatings that all cheerfully skip the "known to the state of California" style warnings in favor of "Yeah, this is pretty much cancer by the gallon, I don't care who you are," sort of labels.

I haven't used the respirator you mention, but I have a "3M™ Half Facepiece Respirator 6000 Series" that works well. I use it when welding and it fits easily under the welding hood so it is very compact. I have found it to be very effective in filtering out noxious fumes when welding metal that's galvanized or painted, etc. The 2091 or 2097 filters are used to protect against many respiratory hazards as shown on the linked pages. There is no question that the filters do what they claim, because I have made myself rather ill on more than one occasion from fumes before I started using these when welding on metals with unknown coatings that weren't well cleaned.

I haven't found any respirator "comfortable" to wear all day, but this one seems to be fairly good. If I recall, there was a thread on GJ in the recent past where someone was asking about one they could live with on a daily basis and several were mentioned. Maybe you can find it.

Not the op but I was wondering, where did you get yours? I don't want to order one online but I have had no luck finding those 6000 series respirators at hd,lowes or wally world.

Might just depend on the Home Depot where you live but my local store carries 6000 series masks in several different pre-bundled configurations:

That said, I usually buy separate masks and cartridges at Amazon, Zoro, etc. where the selection is much wider.

I use the 3M 6000 series respirator as well. Huge range of filters to select from. I mainly use it if I'm grinding all day. Saves me from having black mucus at the end of the day.
I have worn it for 8+ hours with no problems.

I bought the mask at Lowes about a year ago. Recently I noticed that they quit carrying that particular half-mask and the filters. They still have some 3M stuff but not that one.
