Thank you guys for the thoughts and options. We are currently working on a matching billet gas cap cover. I will check in to the low head socket head screws and see how they look. We are getting ready to move the 63 back in the shop area for final body work. I hope we can be painting on this car in the next few weeks.

check out this door panel for the c10 pickup. Its not done yet but i am telling you guys the wait is going to be worth it. This interior is going to be killer.:D

I found out about a car show on Sunday late Saturday afternoon. I had only driven the truck a few miles about a month ago so it was still untested on the road. I gambled and drove the 6 miles to the show. ;) For a true maiden voyage the drive was trimendous. I was really impressed how nice this truck rides. With the skinny tires the ride was incredibly smooth. The A/C blows nice and cold and no issues. I pulled up to the show a little late but it was a crowd stopper. The big block sounds awesome through the exhaust.........just like a high HP muscle car. I guy stopped by and took a few photos and asked for my email address. He send me the photos today. I think they are beautiful!!

Wow Mark, been long time since Ive checked in on your thread, have had my socks literally knocked off ! I grew up in the retaliation business from birth with my father and later with my elder brother. Recently unemployed I have began to build traditional fifties custom cars once again as I did when I was 16 on, very in love with my day job now again and can aspire to one day have one tenth of the facility and quality that you have been turning out. Thank you for all of the inspiring photos and stories, bravo and best of luck to you moving in to the future!

Chris, thank you so much for the nice words. All I can say is its a lot of hard work. The reward comes at the end when the project rolls out on the street. Speaking of rolling out on the street the fire truck will be driven tomorrow. Wish me luck!!

We had a really fun day in the shop today when a crew came in to photograph the C10. They spent 7 hours setting up, taking photo's and tearing down. It is unbelievable how much work goes into getting the perfect shot. The pictures are headed toward a national magazine so I wont be able to share the pictures until they are released. I hate keeping secrets!!:D

seriously the c10 is a show stopper. no joke well done.

thank you so much!!

First of many, I'm sure. Tell us which magazine ?

It will be in Rides and Truckin.:D

I know I haven't talked much about the 58 Corvette. We got the frame painted, the under carriage, and the engine compartment. We are putting the car together right now for the mock up stage. I ordered a set of wheels from Boze. The fronts are 18" and the rears are 19". We have dropped the suspension and have a really cool "stance" with the car. What do you think?

I like the fact that the rims aren't "too big" for the car.

The truck is awesome, can't wait to see it on the newsstand. Will it be on the cover? I'm surprised to see that they just shot the truck right there in the shop. I wonder if they're gonna Photoshop out the background stuff, or if they're doing an "in the shop" type of shoot.

Oh man does that car look good.
I really like the front bumper area filled in. It is soooo clean
The stance is spot on with those new wheels

Mark
You know that I have been following this build with great interest since you first splashed it on my computer and I must say thank you for the inspiration it offers. I only hope mine is close to what I see in this picture

Thanks again

Don, I am only an amateur compared to your skills. Thank you of the compliment.

Right now we are working on another Corvette............MINE!! As usual I have painted my car 100 colors in my head and the final decision comes in the last few days before committing. At the end of the day, I based my decision on the theme of the build. I have shown bits and pieces of some of our custom ideas but this is suppose to be an aggressive in your face restomod with an attitude (sounds cool huh!!) So pretty colors like red and all the others wouldn't work in my head. Black is pretty awesome but I just don't paint my cars black.........anyway all of the black trim we are doing would get lost. So here are pictures of my choice.......hope you like it:thumbup:

P.S.......if you add up the time in the smooth firewall, custom inner fenders, smoothed underside of hood, and rockers............well......I am thinking 160 hours of labor...........its a lot of time and money.

Yep
Thats in your face custom allright
I like the tube chassis and it looks like the color you picked is the same color I painted the bottom of my 62 It looks great

I think that 160 hours would be conservative on my mods (cause I 'm just learnin)

I do like the looks of that engine compartment nice work

That color is very close to what my son painted his 65 vw street racer project, his is a c5 vette color with lots of black trim no chrome.

I'm sure what you come up with will be over the top

The first picture had me pausing just a moment today and saying hmmmm, maybe I should spray satin clear. I think it would be awesome but I don't have the guts to do it. Too many obstacles with satin.

I don't envy you trying to get the radiator support and radiator into the fender wells with scratching that beautiful paint! Stunning work

We got it in.......no scratches!!!

You all know this is the point in the build when you want to post 100 pictures on your car. My goodness it was very nerve racking to change the paint color at the last second. Is it the right shade, will I mess up the build, what if I don't like it. Well, I love it. It is so sick I just can't stop looking at it. Its a real boost to get it over the hill like this. P.S. the paint work is flawless:thumbup:

That looks great.
Anxious to see it over the wheels.

We were just talking about that today!

Mark, It's looking beautiful. Congratulations!!!

thanks Bob!

The more pictures you post, the more I'm liking that color.

I know I keep going out in the shop to look at it. Its growing on me too.

That looks GREAT!!

Ryan.

Thank you.

Stunning. Will the trim be chrome or all blacked out?

It will be all blacked out.

We are starting to assemble the frame now for the last time.
