I made a video to say hello to the forum...
My Introduction video-

Hey All,

GI Bro from Bristol, CT and I am new to this forum (2 weeks old). I consider myself an avid do it your selfer but not a mechanic. I am pretty handy with many tools and have an obsession with Harbor Freight.

No before you beat me up for HF, understand I love Craftsman, Dewalt and most tool brands. I have just had amazing luck with HF tools and cant afford most top name brands.

My passion is for making how to and review videos for tools, guns and man stuff. I plan to post my weekly videos and really appreciate your input. I will make my best efforts to avoid spamming the forum and I will make strong efforts to contribute to others post and projects.

Often times I am better on video than print. I find it really hard to write clear and concise explanations rather that videos with step by steps. At this point you can see that I am just rambling.

I want to make it very clear that I am NOT trying to pull people away from the forums. I hope to draw people here with great videos and strong information.

I have a few big projects coming up this summer.
Rebuilding my Manco Dingo 6.5hp go kart 2 seater: New engine, sandblast the frame, paint and tune up.

Garage remodel with work tables, tool boxes and epoxy flooring.

Please feel free to contact me anytime and if you are in the central CT area, let hang out. Always willing to help out on a project or adventure.

I look forward to our future discussions and helping others.

Thanks, I might hit you up to confirm wire gauges on a 220 air compressor hookup.

You guys speak a different language in the states when it come to electrical terminology and I am still trying to get my head around it.:headscrat

I must start a thread on it some day.

Out here we are all metric when I comes to conductor sizing and load calcs.

The cables and install methodologies are all different as well.:headscrat

We work at 50 hertz, 415 volt three phase and 240 volt single phase for the most part.

I am interested to see what you come up with for sure.

Regards

GIBro: nice intro video. you'll have to teach me how to make a YouTube video because i have a lot of stuff to share and i have yet to make a video. or i can take a video of my project or junk and show what i have an problem with or asking what it is.

when I first started watching your video you had a wrench in your hand and i thought maybe you had lost one of your hands in the war. thankfully you didn't and for those friends and soldiers that did my heart goes out to you.

so for the carpentry trick you mentioned might i suggest you measure twice or three times and cut once instead of the other way around. :D i'm not great at it either, but I've built a few things i can look back and smile at knowing i built them.

i get the shakes going into HF and have only been in their store once to buy a weed burner that i have yet to open up because i discovered salt works great. I have heard the HF 44 inch tool box is as good as any box out there, but i like the look of the older ones. i'm about to start an organizing 101 for garages since i have more stuff than some hardware stores now. i guess on my bucket list is to not ever have to go to the store in the middle of a project.

welcome and looking forward to seeing more of you posts and i agree with your method of showing and telling instead of just telling like most of us do.

cheers

another one is some of the guys have a thing about banging somebody's wife and maybe anybody's wife or just something in a skirt so as hard as it is to keep guys from saying that i think that is in good fun too.

cheers and again happy to have you join our group and i might take you up on how to make a YouTube video this winter.
