Ok GJ members, My question is should I move my free tools to classified section or leave it here? Next question should I start a new blog every time I give some thing away or just keep adding to this one? Thanks Richie
Please keep me out of trouble with the Mods.

I'd say keep it here. Hopefully people will read the post preceding your give away ones and deter any dead beats.

Who knows?
Keep it here, but avoid mailing tools to members who are extremely new unless they have a senior GJ member who can vouch for them.

Is there anything that can be done for Tweety420's committing this faux pa? He hasn't been on GJ since late July according to his public profile.

Shamed into hiding. It would have been less traumatic to just send the check.

For whatever it's worth, I checked my own public profile here on GJ.
One of the last 10 visitors to view my profile was Tweety420.
I have no idea why.
I have made no offers of free tools or handouts.

So either my profile page views have been "slow".
Or I'm being stalked by an "alleged" deadbeat.

How about just make them pay the postage first. Some people just make accounts to see the pictures. And maybe they would like something specific. There are quite a few tool s that I need from classifieds but I'm not about to commit to them without knowing if I can send the funds right then and not be late on my mortgage.

Anyways there are probably people that feel the way I do that they should pay first whether new or old.

Well, I just visited your profile page. If more do the same, maybe we can eliminate his moniker from your page.

This guy is great, where else would you find someone willing to give anything of value away to complete strangers.. I do concur with what someone else suggested, that you kindly request the shipping be prepaid. Hate to say it, but it's just the world we live in. Of the building full of people I work with, there might only be about 2 or 3 I actually trust..

Anyway, what a great thing to do for people..

1. Darn! I would have loved to have that that plomb tappet wrench!
2. Totally annoyed at Tweety!
3. I'm part of another forum where members occaisionally do 'giveaways'. Usually it's the format of letting it run for a few days, where people chime 'Im in!' and a random number generator winner gets it. During the posts, the one giving the gift usually makes some kind of request ... Like "just say, I'm in! And show me a pic of your drill press" or something like that. they may put limits on it like having a minimum post count etc.

I would really like to have a Plvmb ratchet someday. But I think shipping rates from the USA to the Netherlands would be a little high :p
Awsome idea to do this! I can not stand the idea of nice tools (or other things) ending up with the wrong person :(...

I sent him a Harsh PM last night around 7pm, of what I thought about what happened and he responded back within a few hours later, he told me a story of why he didn't pay.

I'll give him time to tell his story.

The tracking number shows that it was delivered, He told me that it arrived, but he got called out of town is why he was late paying me. Now he is saying that it must of been stolen from him. What ever. I truly don't believe he will ever pay. Rich

Well that just a poopy situation. I hope he didn't ruin it for everyone else! I think what you are doing is a great idea here Richard. I also have some tools that I would like to give away, but can't post in the classifieds yet.

I read this thread last year and also sent a pm to tweety420: Time to man up and send Richard Cranium the postage he is due from you!
His response: Time to calm down before you can judge a person.

Sorry didn't read the whole thread. Are you aware of the meaning of 420? If someone wants to smoke pot I don't care, but when you say it in your forum screen name that's a bit weird.

Well, you have his ADDRESS . . . I URGE you to post it here. And that'd be taking it EASY on the schmuck. What's worse is how he led you on for over a year, feeding you ********. Then, anyone who lived near him could pay him a visit ;)

Coming in late, and too tired and slightly sick to bother catching up on the drama, but If someone agrees to buy something and it is mailed (or the payment was mailed and the item was not, the opposite of this situation), it comes under mail fraud and its a felony.

Contact the postmaster general (possibly the local postmaster can be contacted instead? and the feds will come tapping on his door. They have no sense of humor about the US mail service being used for any form of mail fraud...

Outlaw, read the first post by Richard. He was giving away a tool for free and only asking to have postage sent to him after someone received the item.

Too bad there are people on this site taking advantage of others. The guy who he sent it to was fairly new here and had less than 10 posts.

Breeze, I feel I have been more then fair, I have waited sense may 2014. I was advised by him that he received it, but was sent out of town on business and that he would pay me the next week when he got home. He has contacted my on atleast 3 different times and promised to pay. This last time he told me he didn't receive the tool. But the first two time he had received it and was to busy or to far away to pay. On the 27th of June this year he contacted me again and was going to pay me and post on here what his side was on what happened. Well it is now Aug. 13th. So 6 weeks later and no reply, no money. He is not going to pay and most likely never intended to pay. The real pisser is that all I had asked for was the shipping. Which was less then 6.00 as I remember. And thank you to all the members whom has offered to pay his bill. I just want every one to be aware of this guy and not get burned by him. The next guy could get hit for a whole lot more...Rich
