Whaaaaat!? Free tools with the makeup????? Care to tell us where your wife ordered it from?

That'd be an insanely smart marketing ploy. Put free tools in with ladies items and get the husbands to encourage them to buy more. Sounds like an adult version of the toy in the bottom of the box of Crackerjacks. Of course, that might only work for the guys on this forum. Most dudes now a days wouldn't give a rip about tools it seems like.

My Wiha obsession continues - got their complete soft T handle hex metric and SAE sets to add to my torx, cheaper than just getting just the ones that I need. Plus who knows perhaps one day I will need a 2.5MM hex.

The torx have been absolutely flawless in use so far, handle is perfect and the heads dont show much if any wear. Seems like a lifetime tool if I can avoid abusing them.

I'm telling you...it's a WTF or Thread of Awesome. It's now my only EXTRA Deep socket. The socket weighed more than all of the stuff she ordered. I told her to order more stuff. Waaaiiiit... is this a ploy by her?... nah... :dunno:

I've been thinking about getting the torx. Good to hear they're good.

My new blacksmithing set, including a vise. (Actually, not sure what century, but old, at Hohensalzburger Castle, Austria):

2.5mm ? All my rc 1/8th scale buggys use this size. Bag em up and send em over. :)

Today's new tool B006L23LBG Sunex 19mm EXTRA deep impact socket. Sounds cool... It looks cool.

BUT... it comes with a story:

I did not order this socket... it was INCLUDED in my wife's Eve Rochet order of face cream and shower gel. The tool was still wrapped in plastic with bar code and part number. So check your womens packages... you may find random tools included.

Decided this was a WTF thread entry but chose to stick it here.

Did you mean Yves Rocher by chance? http://www.yvesrocherusa.com/control/gifts/

Bud that is badass!. So what's the story behind both attaining those and what they were used for if you happen to know.

Hmmmmmm, now I'm starting to wonder if your wife got smart and planted the tool in there on purpose! If so, she's more devious than the average woman. Beware this one my friend, she's dangerous!

This arrived a few days ago.... a new Armstrong (Trusty Cook) dead blow ball-pien on sale from Amazon. Nice hammer, but I was a little bit disappointed in the fit and finish. I'm sure it will function just fine but it's pretty rough around the edges. The attention to detail on my Snap On dead blow ball-piens is much better.

I bought this SAE set of SO 30/60 4-way wrenches off the truck today. It matches the metric set I bought 2 weeks ago.

And lastly, my SO dealer informed me this morning that I was the lucky winner of this. :D

(I know it's not a "tool" but it did come off the tool truck. lol)

3/8" or 1/2" ? Do the impact extensions have a pin or hole at the male drive end ?
3/8". They have a pin. To remove the sockets you must insert a tool to depress the pin.

wow! do you mind me asking the price of those wrench sets? the quality/packaging look amazing

Retail. Www.nepros.net
Still cheaper than Taiwanese Blue Point that people seem to praise so much (probably because of the Snap-On name).
I'm in Australia. Shipping took 4 days.

damn good deal!

Thanks. The used ones seem to go for $5-6 shipped each so I was happy.

They have a 6 and 8 piece set. Retail is over $100, so I'm trying to piece it together one by one if I see a good price.

I have some nice wiha soft handles, but when working on the car with oil/fluid/etc I prefer the hard handle.

I bought the same one. I didn't notice any problems, but I haven't used it yet.

Congrats on the prize!

SO had the orange color marked down a couple bucks so I pulled the trigger. So far I'm very impressed.

nice! many will argue thats the racheting screwdriver to end them all. i personally use a craftsman one that came with maybe 15 bits for like $20

Lucked out today! Took a trip to my local Ace Hardware to see if they had any lingering USA made tools on sale. Not looking for anything in particular. Had the 14pc Made in USA screwdriver set with the Father's Day sale tag on it. Rang up as $24.95. I told the clerk that there was still a sales tag on the hook. I told her it was old but still there. She said if it's still there I would get the sale price and she asked me to show her where it was. Got the set for $14.95. Have to figure that's a bargain even for Craftsman.

awesome win! be sure not to use lighter fluid with that and only natural/lump charcoal

Thanks! Yeah, I normally use a charcoal chimney even with my standard Weber grill.

Congrats on the prize!

Thanks!
