I picked up a Wilton PowRarm 303 off Craigslist yesterday. It cleaned up really well with almost all of it's original paint - it was black with grease and dust. It came with a fixture for holding small engines (lawn mower etc.). I've never seen a set-up like this before. It looks like it was a fabricated piece, but it works pretty well. :rocker:

While I'm glad I could get it, it's sorta bittersweet. The seller is closing down his family's hardware store. Fourth generation in the family and he is planning on retiring soon. It's a real hardware store with wood floors and nuts and bolts by the pound. Sad to see it go.

I thought it was pretty cool as well.

I temporarily mounted it to a little work table (with one bolt) and mounted an engine to it again - this time I took a few pics. It has no problem holding even when I cranked down on it - which was limited due to the mounting.

I'm going to see if I can fab up a mount for one of my Wilton vises. I think it would see more use that way. Considering the fixtures are held with two bolts, things can swap out easily.

Damn . . . another Wilton that I "need" . . . or should I say "want" to find !!! :D

OP . . . what did you have to give for those ??

That's a great tool for what you've got pictured . . . small engine repair.

+1 that it's too bad that economy won't support mom & pop hardware store.

What other uses does this have besides engines since you said the engine holder was fabricated?

Usually I've seen them with vises mounted to them. I have a 3" wilton I might fab a mount for like this one someone has on da-bay.

I'm also intrigued with the possibility of mounting a Versa-Vise on it like this one - though I have the short jaw version.

When I type "Wilton" into my CL, I get a bunch of giant cupcake pans. And, they cost as much as you paid for that PowRarm. Nice find.
