New Vidmar Cabinet

Congratulations, a 15 drawer is a rare find at any price. I recently spruced up a Vidmar and found what I believe is misinformation regarding bearing lube. I saw an online reference to Permatex Ultra Slick Engine Assembly Lube which is an oil. I think the recommended lube is actually Permatex Ultra Slick Synthetic Lube with PTFE which is grease. Would be less confusing if Permatex would leave the words Ultra Slick out of every lubricant the sell.
I actually ended up using Super Lube which I think is basically the same thing.

Yes it fits well for me with slight mod. People say they have a hard time trying to fit it but you'll figure it out pretty easily - you're an engineer, right?

That's great news, just have to order everything (liners, keys, dividers, handle ends, and a new emblem) and get it painted and then start organizing.

When I ordered end caps from Stanley, the sales person keep asking questions via emails as to the drawer pulls to make sure I got the correct caps. Left alone I would have order the wrong ones.
Get liner material from HD, oem liners are real expensive approx $25/drawer, HD's $2.50 ft 36"width off a roll (ribbed vinyl black), same type but slightly thinner than oem

You want the latest design end-caps (2nd gen) with your first generation drawer pull handle.
Other than more Drawer dividers, and handle end caps and labels (on order), it's all done! The paint isn't perfect, but it's a toolbox, not a show car. I'm sure it'll get touched up and repainted eventually
I used Indoor outdoor carpet for drawer liners, and started loading it up.
It's gonna take a lot of trial and error to organize but so far it's amazing. It's unreal how much more space this is compared to my HF44. Only thing I wish I had was one extra deep drawer.

"Only thing I wish I had was one extra deep drawer." Shame, now you will have to get another cabinet.....looks good...big difference the extra few inches in the drawer size makes when you have large sets of sockets/wrenches.
Which one did you buy? Was it the precut roll that has no backing, Eco something?

I have two equipto's and love them. Just unreal how much the drawers will hold. I have one of my drawers full of sockets and they must weigh 5 to 6 hundred pounds. You can feel that the drawer have a load on it. But it slides just a smooth as can be. Congrats and I guess I should also tell you that you ****......

Wire wheeled all the rust off today and got a coat of primer on it. Gotta sand and then roll on a coat of black enamel oil based rustoleum.
Question for you, what kind of wire wheel did you use? On a drill? Grinder? Did you just wire wheel the rust or did you get the entire box down to bare metal before priming?
I finally found my Vidmar and I think I'm going to paint then both to match and was just curious how you went about it. Box looks great and still very jealous!!
I bought a HF grinder and the HF grinding attachment pack. So I used the wire cup and wheel attachments.
On mine, I only did the rusty areas down to bare metal, primed those areas, scuffed the whole cabinet with 220 and rolled on paint.
It's by no means perfect, but it's a toolbox in the garage so that's okay with me. Looks awesome until a foot or two away and then you can see some imperfections. That also may be my color choice.
Some people will take theirs down to bare metal with aircraft stripper and spray, but I didn't have the patience or time for that.

Go get some partitions and dividers, especially for the P20 drawers to help you organize
