They are, but the Rennsteig ones are really amazing. Completely polished shafts and lacquered, almost too nice to use. More like jewelry. The Hazet handles are a little larger though.

Nothing too exciting, but I did get a new set of USA made Wilde picks. I like the small handles, I do a lot of work on motorcycles and ATVs and small is usually better.

If you don't mind me asking cost and where you purchased them from? I'd like a set of those for the exact same use.

The Wilde picks are identical to the craftsmans just minus the grips or can someone correct me. Be careful as two of the handles pulled off the tips during normal use

They are different than the Craftsman ones I have, but I can't say what craftsman is rebranding these days. It could be the same as current stuff. If a handle pulls off I'll be sure to report back along with how well they warranty them:beer:

They're made by Wilde, Craftsman is Ullman. The wilde ones are threaded into the handles so the only way they come out is if you unscrew them.

I've been on a roll lately. Here is some of my new stuff. I dint earn all of my living with my tools do I'm not as big money as some of you but I like my USA Craftsman stuff. I also sued bug time today at a yard sale. Spent 2 hours picking through the tools and got about 200 lbs of stuff. I'll sort it all out and get some more pictures tomorrow of that stuff.

Are you referring to the black grips or the actual aluminum handle?

I picked up a set of Craftsman/Ullman picks last week and actually pulled the grips off prior to some messy work. Save for the lettering, the Wilde set looks similar to the Craftsman branded set with the grips removed. If you buy Ullman, you can choose to go with or without the black grip.

I also sued bug time today at a yard sale.

I'm pretty bi-lingual, as my best friend is American, but even I get a little lost
sometimes, by some American idioms of a local origin... Not even Google
could help me on this one.... :headscrat

I am therefore going to conclude, that somehow or another, it is meant to read

"I also scored big time today at a yard sale" :dunno:

If my conclusion is way off... please can someone tell me what "Sued Bug time" means..?

Nice USA Craftsman by the way.. ;)

The city of the broken bell.
Recently discovered the existence of this gadget, and it is wonderful:

(not the drill press, the tapping head installed on it)

Grizzly T10057, was an "open box" deal on amazon, $140. Also picked up some YG1 HSS spiral flute taps via ebay and tried it out.

Works pretty darn good, turns tapping from something I despise into a quick down and back motion of the drill press.

For those not familiar with it, basically it runs the tap forward into the hole as long as you have downward pressure on it... stop, and it stops... start to raise the quill of the drill press, and it kicks the tapping head into reverse to back the tap out (while the drill press runs in forward the entire time).

Now THAT looks really useful!

No longer listed on Amazon. :willy_nil

I have the Ullman in the mail.Never heard anything bad ?It's not a big money item; so I could care less.
I have a nice selection of different Loctite if I encounter a problem ;)

I don't have them personally. Always heard the picks were good quality, but sometimes the handles coming off was a nuisance. I have also read loctite resolves the issue.

Loaned a masonry chisel to a good friend and it never made it home (his employees, not him) so he bought me two replacements.

Wilde USA cold chisel and a Chinese masonry chisel:
