Do not buy tools from this seller.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...0341418204&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT&viewitem=

The used wrench was in very poor condition when I received it. It has "mip" engraved on it along with several scrapes and one very bad ding - not to mention being very dirty.

I knew I was taking a risk by buying a used wrench and I was prepared for the worst - the worst happened. The only reason I took a chance on this wrench was because it's a vintage 'A' series - as in OEX14A. After this episode, I don't think I'll be bidding on used wrenches ever again.

Merkava_4,

I am sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with your last eBay transaction. Even though the seller was deceptive by not disclosing the previous owner's engraved initials and the wide photo shootings to hide the wrench's condition, it should not discourage you from bidding again on used tools. In the last 3 years, I have saved a great amount of money buying used tool truck brand hand tools (about $10,000) in good condition. If you are unhappy with your purchase, why don't you contact the seller? I am sure he does not want to risk a negative feedback to taint his clean feedback rating. If you do not get satisfaction with the seller, file a transaction grievance with Paypal. Good luck.

You gotta understand, Merk isn't buying these tools to use, otherwise everyone would be commenting that he has no beef getting the wrench for $8.53. Instead, he buys these tools to polish and admire. He doesn't actually USE them. Man bling if you will.

The guy could have just made a mistake, he does (did) have 100 percent feedback. Did you tell him you was unhappy with the transaction? Generally people want to keep a positive feedback and i would expect he wouldnt allow 8 bucks and some change affect his feedback. I wouldnt. Ive noticed over the years that some engravings are damn hard to find. My 2 cents.

Charles,

I actually bought this wrench to use. It's usable, but it won't be going in the drawer with my best wrenches. Matter-a-fact, I don't think I'll even keep it in the toolbox.

Blast the seller with a negative; teach him a lesson about selling used tools that can not be displayed alongside virgin, unused tools....:lol_hitti:beer:

Will it be sent to the corner to sit in shame?

Minor chrome peel would've been fine, but the scrapes and the gouge in the beam are what bother me the most. I've got a magnetic parts tray on the side of the file cabinet in the garage; that's where it will probably stay.

I've busted Merk's balls before about not using his tools, he's 100% right here. It makes no difference if it's for use or bling or whatever, the whole point is the seller misrepresented the wrench. The pics hide all the damage and he stated that nothing is engraved. Merk should message the guy and get his money back and leave a neutral, no money and the guy gets a negative.

Merk, you do realize since the changes he cannot leave you a negative in response to yours?

Unbelievable! With all the time Merk spends on Ebay he only has a feedback score of twelve! How is that possible?

I agree that the seller is in the wrong and should have disclosed all flaws but I can't help but laugh a bit as you seem more disgruntled with the tool than the seller. It's a shame that the wrench will never know the love of your polish rag. My condolences.

Any chance maybe the seller missed the engraving? I mean, how big is the engraving?

There's been a lot of items where the sellers neglected to leave feedback. As long as I have the minimum 10, I'm alright with it.

I friggin hate when people dont leave feedback. Mostly because I sell a lot of stuff and paypal holds your money until they confirm it arrived or buyer leaves positive feedback. this only happens with payments over $100, and to people with less than 100 feedback. I have 62 feedback right now....sooo close.

Anyway, sounds to me like the description was a lie or, accidentally wrong. I would try to work it out.

It's very easy for me to see, but at least it's not terribly deep. What is terrible is the deep nick on the beam. I should send it to Chad and see if he can fill it in with his TIG machine. ;)

I really really hate having tools with someone elses name on them. I feel like I need to hide it so noone thinks I stole it or something. The last 2 ratchets I warrantied at Sears(before I realized they **** and there are better tools)had someone elses name scratched on them.

The seller should get hammered in feedback. No engravings is a deliberate attempt to misrepresent. I agree, never buy from that guy

On the other hand its a very useable wrench and worth 8 bucks, not sure how much it cost to ship?

And I find it hilarious you won't put it in the drawer with your good wrenches:bounce:

From what I see about the seller, he could care less if you left neg. feedback. He doesn't sell stuff very often and will just change to a new name. He was hoping to stick it to people and get away with it. And it looks like he did. It's to bad there are jerks like that seller on there, some of us try very hard to be be responsible sellers and get hurt by losers like him.
I would have been a bit weary of it when he had a close up of the lettering, but a wide shot of the whole wrench.

I sure would have pointed out those flaws if I was selling it. He clearly misrepresented the engraving and should take it back for a full refund including shipping both ways. If not I would file with Paypal.

By the way I have purchase many tools from Ebay with excellent results. I did get a posi-driv listed as a phillips once but the seller took care of it with no problems.

If this kind of stuff happens to me , I contact the seller and try to work something out before leaving feedback. Not too long ago I got a bunch of Snap-on screwdrivers and a couple were grossly misrepresented. The seller asked if I would pay the shipping chg only and keep all the screwdrivers. I said "that would be fine" and we both got pos feedback.

In another instance I got a bunch of sockets shipped loosely together in a box ,which I complained about. This guy got a neutral from me. He leaves me a pos & then comments "sellers beware buyer expects unrealistic packaging"
WTF ? I called ebay and they removed the sellers comment ! BTW seller is jaxpawn904
