So this is the best deal I've seen if you value the points as dollars. If you don't, the deal is average, but not great. This is also a Hot Buy so no stacking coupons, etc. The link is below:

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-c3-1...sellerId=SEARS&prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1

I found that I had to use Safari on the ipad to get the $40 in points. Otherwise, it only wanted to give $11. This usually only goes on sale for $20 off so this is a little better than that and then the points make the deal $112 IF you will use them within 90 days. The lowest I've seen this for was $144 with Craftsman Club when it was introduced.

Anybody going to bite? The extended battery alone is usually $79.

Thanks,
Robert

Really? Was that the Heavy Duty Impact Wrench or the Impact Driver? Actually, either one is a great deal, but this would be a steal!

Good price OP. I bought this in March. Paid $155 and got $35 back in points IIRC. It's worked great for me so far!

I think there was a thread on these, and they were the older ni-cd kits. I can't say for certain however.

I was considering getting the refurbished model, but it was rated only 200 ft lbs. and came with a NiCd battery.

Sears still has new kits in stock:

The newer model in the opening post is rated 300 ft lbs and comes with a 4Ah Li-ion battery.

Just an FYI to anyone considering a C3 impact wrench - the lithium battery makes a world of difference. The Ni-Cd battery does not work well with this tool, it is much better suited for lithium.

yeah i got about twice as much use out of the compact lithium before it cut out than i did from the ni-cd before it started puttering out

it was amusing though when the ni-cd hit it's limit and it was like bangbang..bang.....bang...........bang......................bang...................tap........................................tap........................................nope

OK, so mine just came and thought I would give impressions. First, kudos to Sears...I ordered yesterday afternoon and it arrived today. I think this is a great homeowner quality impact, especially for someone already with some c3 tools. It is clear this is Ryobi level as the charger functions the same, the battery looks the same, etc. I don't think that's a bad thing, just know you're not getting Ridgid or Milwaukee level quality here.

That said, the tool feels solid, and did a great job of spinning 100ft lb lug nuts off the car! I'm very happy with the purchase for a little over $100 (after points). Also, the extended battery will pull double duty in a recip saw I have.

Thanks,
Robert

I picked this up and used two of those discounted gift cards from ebay a while back to make it an even better deal. I think somehow I ended up with like $54 in points out of the deal so now I can get that cordless grinder I have been eyeing.

Just wanted to post an update here. Sears is more messed up than I can believe. Of course the points don't show up correctly. I do the online chat thing and the rep says he'll take care of it. They still don't come. I do the online chat again. This rep tells me they can't do points, and gives me a special number.

I call the number each time having to explain the whole story. The rep tells me to email a screenshot. Amazingly, the page is still up on my ipad and I can send it in. I don't think they expect this. They then want to get back to me in a few days.

I told them to open the email now. The lady does and there is the screenshot. She then complains that the order page doesn't specify WHY the points were to be awarded. I was beyond belief. I don;t know why Sears order confirmation doesn't say why you got the points, I thought it was pretty amazing that I still had the order page and could show it to them.

Ultimately, after a total time investment of 2.5 hrs, she gave me the points. But you know what? I don't even want the thing any more. It's going back to the store the next time I go in to town.

This is my I'm done with Sears post!

Thanks,
Robert

I am guessing that this deal is over? When I clicked on the link it showed 169.99 with no $40 in points. Also I have the first version of this gun and it is ok but needs more power. Is this gun better than the first design or is it just the better battery? Anybody compare them back to back with the new battery in both?
