I made this a few years ago at work. I was tired of carrying a screwdriver in one pocket and 3 ratchet wrenches in the other. So when I broke the open end of my Proto ratchet wrench I got this crazy idea. :lol_hitti

You can't patent now, it's in the public domain so basically you could apply for a patent pending but if it got big the multinational conglomerates could produce them and say there is evidence of one's existence in the public domain (published) before your patent application even though it was yours. By the time time their lawyers depleted your resources in a lengthy court battle they would have made enough on mass marketing to be looking for their next victims.

That's why patents are "pending" now a days, it takes time for infringements to surface. Anything like a published devise that was in existence prior to an application will dispel the patent.

I think the "patent pending" comment from kctyphoon was a joke from the show Scrubs, where the janitor, who invented knife wrench, would say things like "patent pending", "for kids", and a couple other things when he would bring out Knifewrench!! (patent pending).

well....... Free Scratchets for everyone!!!!!!!!! Judging from the video, a patent wouldn't matter anyways.
