I'm still searching for an inverter type Windows A/C.

I'm getting really annoyed at the constant on/off/on/off of the compressor on my window unit and the associated temperature fluctuations. Plus being in an apartment I'm sure the noise and frequent cycling is annoying the neighbour below.

All of what I've found is limited to the Philippines or India...

Anyone know of something?

Thanks!

No one is willing to pay for them...other than you. Window shakers are the bottom end of the market and there is no joy in adding features to the price point sensitivity of a window unit. Just my take on them, but I think that is the issue. They know that their only benefit is price and as mshp's become more plentiful and prices drop there will be even more pressure on them.

A few minutes of Googling yielded the same things you found, not in the US but in Hong Kong and the Phillippines.

These are 230v, 60 hz units, so you would be able to use them, but the shipping would be a killer!!!!!!

Not sure why the idea hasn't spread, except that window units tend to be "cheap" and no one wants to waste money on a efficient window unit.

Strange that they all seem to be available in the Philippines if cost is the big factor.

I'm glad I live on the noisy traffic side of the building as that helps to drown out the noise of the A/C. I've got it sitting on cork and foam pads to further reduce the vibration through to downstairs.

Oh well.

Just a guess, but, the compressors/units are probably made in the Phillipines. So, they would be local for them and thus cheaper to obtain.

There's also large differences in how buildings are built, and what is deemed 'acceptable' HVAC in other parts of the world.
