I found this thread while searching for the same question OP asked. I promised myself to not post anything online anymore, but I seem to have enough of these (and care enough about it) to add my opinion.
I have the following:
Lutz 6-in-1: The Classic 6-in-1. Made in USA (allegedly). Sturdy build, good weight and materials, less than $10. Mine is yellow, and lives with my tape measure, favorite pliers, and hammer on a toolbelt. I use it more than any other screwdriver.
Husky 6-in-1 and Craftsman 6-in-1: Honestly, these look and feel
exactly like the Lutz, but have transparent branded handles and cost a few bucks more. Not sure who makes them...maybe Lutz? I keep one in my woodshop for changing blades, the other is a spare in the tool drawer.
Kobalt 6-in-1: Cheapish hollow feel with gimmicky grip. I keep one in each car, along with a vise grip and slip joint wrench. Should be fine for rare uses, but not an everyday or hard use tool.
Klien 11-in-1: I was really excited about this one, but ended up preferring the Lutz 6-in-1 for everyday use. The Klien lives in my Automotive toolbox in the garage. Why?
- First, having 11 options is a little too much fuss and fiddling around to change heads out for my most frequent needs.
- Second, those small torx bits are most often found on things that need a light touch to avoid stripping the threads, and this particular driver is too heavy to use with a light touch when compared to a small precision driver.
- Third, while the bits are held firmly in place, they are small and don't feel as secure as the Lutz/Craftsman/Husky bits do. I would hate to lose one in the grass!
