
Would you trust a 3/8" drive for a 250 ft lb torque wrench? (versus a 1/2")
Who makes a 3/8 that measures up to 250ftlbs? Unless someone swapped out a proto gear maybe.
I don't think 3/8 drive would be strong enough or long enough for a 250ftlbs application even if someone made one. For 250ftlbs, I like the Precision Instruments split beam flex head torque wrench in 1/2 drive.![]()
in 3/8" drive:
Craftsman has two models going to 250 ft lb max
Sturtevant & PI have models that go to 200 ft lb max
I might be wrong but, I think the Craftsman models only measure to 250 Inlbs (inch pounds).
