Too much bickering going on in here, and not enough deal talking. Guys getting pissed because they can't buy a $200 item for a penny, acting like vultures when they may have to pay $1 for that item.

At least those people are talking about deals and not attacking other people with namecalling.

Did you try to buy one?
they said not for sale.
people who work in that store are too stupid to begin with. I bought a nailer from them it was 60 something. the tools guy run to sco and scanned the barcode. then I bought another one and the cashier was trying to peel off UPC barcode probably thinking I put it there. I stopped him telling him I may need to return this thing. then another tool guy said "we don't sell nailers under $100", probably thinking I put UPCs myself
then they started following me around, calling each other on the phone, cover their mouths when to talk to each other. those guys are a bunch of degenerates but they had four different kinds of nailers which are listed here

I hate that. I feel that way sometimes. When every store associate asks if you need help. Sometimes twice.

no this was different. they thought I was a thief. And one idiot there doesn't even know there is a thing called clearance. either those people are idiots or they were not happy that I was taking things right under their noses. but because of all that scene with the phone calls and covering their mouth I do believe they're just idiots

You may consider just telling them straight up to quit harassing you or you're going to take it up the chain.

Never underestimate how lame-brained an hourly employee might be.

I've had the same thing happen with chashiers trying to pull off the barcode labels that were put on at the factory. It's like they just can't stand to see a label without absent-mindedely trying to pick at it. (I'd bet she's one of those ladies that mindlessly pops the bubbles in other peoples' packing materials.)

What amazes me even more is that when this happened to me, I was not even trying to do a return -- I was trying to get a price-drop correction within 10 days of my purchase on a closed-box item, with a receipt. and the dumb lady was peeling off the label. The box was stapled shut at the factory and had never been opened, the box was clearly marked as to what it was, and when she scanned the barcode her register brought up the picture of the exact item that was in front of her. How much more confirmation did she need? I only wanted a price correction guarantee, I didn't want to return it. There was no need for her to inspect the package, all she needed to do was to issue a credit with the receipt based upon the product's price drop.

She insisted on peeling off the factory label only to find an empty space on the box underneath. Then she ripped open the staples, took the tool out of the box, examined it, put it back in the box, taped the box shut with cellophane tape, and then she issued a return and forced me to rebuy it.

I'm not sure why she had to open the box to inspect something that I didn't even want to return. You'd think that she could have just processed the refund on the difference between the old sale price and new sale price with just the register receipt, without even needing the item in hand, and without peeling off labels and without opening sealed boxes.

Some people just seem to work best with their brain in neutral.

I have a better idea - if something like this happens again I'll record it and put it on YouTube

Careful with that one. There's a possibility HD may have some sort of signage or policy preventing unauthorized video recording.

I'm not feeling very witty right now, but I'm sure I can come up with someway to get them good and get them off your back.

Is it store or corporate policy to bring the item in along with the receipt, for a sale-price difference refund? Seems dumb to make the customer go through that hassle.

I had an employee start yelling (yes, raised voice and all) that I wasn't allowed to use Home Depot computers and that he could help me and that computer was there for their employees to do "purchasing" on (not sure what that means). I told him I was sorry and walked off. He continued to rant at me until I was about 2 aisles away from him.

It wasn't even a computer behind a desk, it was a stand alone one in appliances. I have never had an employee ever tell me I couldn't use the computer, much less raise their voice until now. I just let it slide since I had already found what I was looking for by the time grumpy came along.

I had an employee at my local store see me looking at clearance items and politely point me towards some clearance bulbs in automotive. That's the kind of folks I am used to dealing with around here.

He just said he had to put one of those cable things around it for me to continue shopping.

Which could be interpreted as "don't move with this item until I get back". Just playing the "devil's advocate" here. I don't think they will come after you at this point, just advising caution as these kinds of situations can and have resulted in theft charges.

Back on topic. I found some more hitachi nails yesterday.

SCO lady said I couldn't buy them. Tool manager came over and said I couldn't buy them. I was on the phone with customer service when the store manager came out and said if something rings up a penny they have to sell it to me for a penny. I hung up with customer service and before we finished ringing up the nails someone came over to make sure everything was ok as a result of the customer service call.

Just got a chuckle watching a Office Depot, Office Max commercial, I had to post it under HD thread. They are having .01 notebooks this weekend. I wonder if you have to call corporate when you check out.

Concealment of merchandise is a different statute. It isn't theft. But I get your point. Either way, that/this discussion is better suited for a separate thread.

100 footer is down to $15 (25% off). Just bought one, needed a 100 footer to spray some Moss Out on the roof

Thought I hit the jackpot on the .01 50' hose. Saw several just above the on shelf hoses. I grabbed a little yellow ladder and they were to 100'. Still bought one as they're a great deal at $15. Store computer said -3 qty on the 50 and 158 on the 100. No idea where the other 100s were. I looked around and in the OH. Will keep an eye out if they drop again I'll grab another.

If anyone needs LED bulbs or wants to upgrade to LED they have a special buy on 60W equivalent Philips. $4.97 for a two pack. That's about half price. I grabbed 5 boxes. Lighting guy said when they sell out they're gone.

Has anyone seen any good deals on circular saws? Either corded Cordless doesn't matter

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk

Not recently. The last deals were the $50 Skilsaw, $10 or $13 Ryobi, and some stores had the Milwaukee cordless for like $30. All of those have dried up, unless you're lucky.

Does the Husky 52-inch 18 drawer tool chest ever go on sale? Looks like normal price is $598.

A lot of Hitachi items on the HD website are at 40 to 60% off.

Most notable:
18" 40cc chainsaw $179 (save $120)
Not sure if I will bite on this or save for an Echo.
