Just listed and sold a drill press in less than a day. First guy to call, took it away at my $100 asking price.

I've said this many times to my close friends. I miss IE/LA/SD Craigslist.

You have no idea what it's like out here in the south. I swear, I continously see the same thirift store located about an hour from me post all their inventory individually DAILY!!!

And then, the local RV dealer seems to be doing the same thing! There's probably about 3-5 REAL new posts per day. Nothing like LA/IE/SD. I need some cheese to go with my wine!

It really ticks me off when they do that & list as an "owner" instead of a "dealer" so you can't filter them out.

I've had a Craftsman miter saw and stand listed for a fair price, lower than any pawn shops, and I've gotten 2 unreasonable offers in 3 weeks.

Sigh.

Most of the stuff around here seems reasonably priced, but it just gets re-listed and re-listed endlessly.

I see fake cars for sale adds all the time too, out of state area codes, with a super low price, but then you call the guy and surprise surprise, no answer. Then you get a text back saying, car is actually "brother-in-law's cousin's little sister's boyfriend's." and to email them for more info. Not falling for it dude. I flag those all the time!

I guess so, that switch almost pays for the machine and if that is a table lift on that production table, it could fetch 2-3x asking price. Do me a favor, tell who ever bought that from you that "THEY ****!".

I'm no fan. I've tried to sell and all I get is a bunch of **** replies like " I'm interested in your product"

Maybe I should give it another chance. You guys seem to talk about it a lot.

Hey Bobby,

Yeah, I check Jackson, and Birmingham, and Hattiesburg, and Gulport. I just haven't found anything worth the drive yet. I'll probably be out in the Jackson area in the next couple of weeks, so I'll keep an eye out.

Just sold a truck for $200 off list in 6 hours. Craiglist can be a pain....but sometimes it works great!

In my opinion the secret to success is lots of good pictures
at least 5 preferably 10 or more
not dark grainy lousy pics
well lit focused pics taken outdoors if necessary for adequate light
Price it correctly with great pics and it will sell so fast, before the spammers have a chance to ask you........ "is your "item" still available?"

Using CL is a skill. You don't just wake up one day and become successful at buying/selling there.....seriously, it takes some time to know how to work it, both for selling and buying.

After you do, you can find amazing deals. I buy/sell regularly, with great success. Spend a few minutes recalling what we had before.....newspaper classifieds/auto trader/cycle trader/etc! **** you had to pay for, and it had 1/10th of the market penetration!!

I listed my truck (in NC) and had a call from a guy in GA that was going to come get it...and drive it to his father in Mexico. This call came a couple hours after I posted it. Thankfully found a local guy a few minutes later.
