02 Camry V-6 high idle

When I start the car it idles about 2000-3000 rpm until the car is warm and it settles down to about 1000 rpm. There are no codes showing. Waiting 30+ min for the car to warm up is not a practical solution. Anybody have any ideas?

Sticky IACs are a fairly common problem after they get that old. Don't bother trying to clean it, never had luck cleaning the Toyota ones, just R&R. Great time to clean the throttle body as well. You can confirm the bad IAC with bi-directional controls.

Scan tool available? If so, what are your fuel trims? Desired vs actual idle?

Defiantly agree with skin.
Idle air control valve is probably filfthy.
It has probably never been replaced.

they do seem to idle higher than usual tho, i also have found that after replacing a timing belt idle got was lower, and overall smoother.

also, reset memory after replacement

I had something similar with my Saturn.
Check the hoses and rubber elbows coming out of engine for holes.
The red arrows in my picture are where mine were.
