Acid stain or water based stain?

I'm gonna be doing a lot of welding, fabricating, building/wrenching on different rides, some wood working...whatever
I want to use some type of clear to make the stain really pop.
I want it to look awesome...but I do plan on using it...not gonna be OCD about any kind of stains or anything.
Let me know what you think...if you've been down this road and what you used???

Sugar:
If you want your acid stain to "pop" you want a solvent based sealer.
You can go less expensive and expect to repair/recoat from time to time or you can go for a beast like our Nohr-S Polyurea sealer and get some performance.

Regardless if you use a urethane (what I would do) or an MMA, you have to protect the top coat or you are going to ruin it.

Should be ok. The stain is all that remains after the water evaporates. However, I personally don't like the WB stains. Acid stain is more consistent and looks better, less issues.

We find the best colorants are acetone type dyes with urethane topcoats.

Great for those in the know. Not great for a 1st timer. Acetone dye, if not applied correctly can quickly look like a bad spray-can job.

Actually acetone dyes are super easy and very forgiving and we have sold thousand of systems to novices with perfect results!
