Good morning all! I have been lurking around the site for a while while waiting to start my garage. What a great site for ideas and inspiration!

On to the build...

The previous owner used it as a shop and wasn't set up how I wanted it, so I started stripping it down.. I have some more pictures but this will give you an idea of its condition.

All the drywall is up along with the first coat of mud. Any suggestions on what to do with the cinder block under the base plate? Just any old paint or build out a ledge around?

First coat of primer. Great to see paint on the walls. Couldn't have done it without my assistant (and a half)!d48f187c9fdc77ad0706ac74de2d71f7.jpg

Now it's time to finalize paint scheme and decide what color to paint these. Anyone have a link for the best way to paint cabinets?

Thanks in advance!

Grey with yellow; white above the yellow line... Just think it will keep things brighter and more well lit.

I think the red or the yellow would depend on what you plan on doing to the floor. I guess the logical question to ask is, what are you planning on doing to the floor?

The light gray for the lower secation including the curb, then your favourite accent color for the chair rail, then white upper section with a white ceiling. At my last job, we had all white walls and ceilings with red baseboards and trim, when clean it was awesome, but the lower 4 ft was always dusty and splashed from hosing the floors.
My garage will be light gray, safety blue stripped, with white uppers. All my benches will be safety blue, and tool boxes are assorted Snap On red and Napa Signature blue. Likely my tool stands will be Sun yellow or Inca Gold just for a little variation.

I was going to pick the wall color first then the floor. I dont know if thats backwords or not but its cheaper to get a coat of paint up then doing the floor lol.

With that being said, this would be the floor design:

I think this is the direction I will be going with! Thanks guys!!

95% done the paint. A few touch up spots and the wood behind the electrical panel and I'm done. The tip about painting the tape the base color I learned on here worked awesome for the stripe. NO BLEED THROUGH!!!

Next up is painting and hanging the cabinets. Just need to decide which color

Wasn't happy with the color combo. Decided to change the top from white to light grey. It made such a big difference imo

you're right, the gray does really make a difference up top. Much more "industrial shop" look, instead of a residential garage trying to look like one!
