Daughter is looking to buy an old house, and seems the original owners replaced some water pipe, in a new bathroom, with Pex, Blue and Red. Most of it is in the crawl space and uninsulated.

Is there a Pex specific way or type of insulation that should be used with Pex? Or treat it as normal pipe?

I've got the foam noodles, rated an R of approx 3-3.4 but they really don't do much. I'm going to have to cover them with a lot more pipe insulation, wrap around, so I can keep the cold water cold in the summer. Figure a good 3-4 inches of insulation around I'm hoping will help.

Thanks all. So basically, nothing special ... good to know.

No comment on your question but I like the look of your pooch. Is he a Cane Corso? I've always read they're "deadly" but I suspect it's like a lot of things, and is overblown and inaccurate if they're raised by responsible, kind owners. Just curious, sorry to derail your thread for a minute.

That is Leonidas (Leo), he's a 4 year old Cane Corso. He is a huge chick dog. Will not leave my wife's side for anything, and is very protective. She works from home, so I have no problem with this.
