Here is my second time restoring a vise. The first one was for my own working bench vise and I was just happy to have it cleaned up for daily use.
So this is really the first attempt at taking more time with the process and making the paint a little more detailed.
The subject is this little Erie Tool Works No. 25 vise. It was a $5 barn sale find and was pretty covered in surface rust.

Kroil got things loosened up and after tear down, wire wheel time, 24 hours in Evaporust, a coat of Permatex rust preventer, a couple coats of gray primer and 3 final coats of Duplicolor Dark Blue Metallic I finished the lettering with some light blue Sign Painters One Shot.


Now I got the bug to start another one. Lucky for me I have about 15 more candidates waiting their turn.
